PUBLIC ADVISORY | KANLAON VOLCANO

ATM: ONGOING MODERATELY EXPLOSIVE ERUPTION AT KANLAON VOLCANO

The public is hereby advised to remain alert and vigilant following reports of an ongoing moderately explosive eruption at Kanlaon Volcano.

SAFETY PRECAUTIONS:
🔹 Stay away from the 6-kilometer Permanent Danger Zone (PDZ) and other areas restricted by authorities.
🔹 Avoid entering river channels and waterways near the volcano, especially during heavy rainfall, due to the risk of lahars.
🔹 Wear a well-fitting face mask and protective eyewear if ashfall occurs. Stay indoors whenever possible and keep doors and windows closed.
🔹 Monitor official advisories and updates from PHIVOLCS and your respective LGU.
🔹 Follow evacuation orders and instructions from local authorities immediately.
🔹 Report any emergency or urgent concern to your local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (DRRMO).
