Who would have thought that our local and simple action towards a greener and cleaner barangay would be recognized as a national finalist for the Ten Outstanding UN SDG Awards in 2026? What started as a simple, consistent cleanup drive has now led to our recognition as a national finalist/awardee.

This recognition is not just for the Sangguniang Kabataan but for the entire New Minarognon and especially the YOUth.

A 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺 for aspiring youth leaders and Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) officials was successfully conducted today, April 10, 2026, at the Legislative Building – Session Hall, Motiong, Samar, facilitated by the 𝗦𝗮𝗺𝗮𝗿 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆 – 𝗦𝗮𝗺𝗮𝗿 𝗜𝘀𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗖𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗚𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗟𝗼𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗚𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 (𝗦𝗦𝗨–𝗦𝗜𝗖𝗚𝗟𝗚).

The activity marks another meaningful extension initiative of SSU–SICGLG in partnership with the Local Government Unit of Motiong, aimed at strengthening the communication skills of the youth—particularly those who aspire to take on leadership roles in the future.

The training was facilitated by distinguished resource speakers from SSU–SICGLG, namely 𝗗𝗿. 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗲 𝗔𝗻𝗻 𝗔. 𝗔𝗰𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗮, 𝗔𝘁𝘁𝘆. 𝗔𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗮 𝗠𝗲𝗱𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗮 𝗖. 𝗚𝗮𝗯𝗲𝗷𝗮𝗻, 𝗗𝗔, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗠𝗿. 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗲 𝗕. 𝗚𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗹, who shared their expertise and insights on effective communication, particularly in the digital space.

The Sangguniang Kabataan Federation of Motiong extends its heartfelt gratitude to SSU–SICGLG for bringing this impactful training to our municipality. We are equally thankful to our SK officials and aspiring youth leaders for their active participation and commitment to learning and growth.

We also express our sincere appreciation to the 𝗟𝗼𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗚𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗠𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗴, under the leadership of 𝗠𝗮𝘆𝗼𝗿 𝗥𝗲𝗻𝗲 𝗔𝗻𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗻𝘆 𝗖𝗮𝗯𝗮𝗲𝗹 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗩𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗠𝗮𝘆𝗼𝗿 𝗥𝗲𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗼 𝗖𝗮𝗯𝗮𝗲𝗹, for their unwavering support to youth development and empowerment initiatives.

This activity serves as the first leg of the training series, focusing on digital communication and social media management for SK officials and youth leaders. The second leg of the program is set to take place this coming June, continuing our collective effort to build more competent and effective youth leaders.

As we navigate an increasingly digital world, communication remains a vital skill; not only in leadership but in everyday life. It is through effective and responsible communication that ideas are shared, communities are engaged, and meaningful change is realized. ✨
