For John Rey, his journey to where he is now is a combination of his familyโ€™s perseverance and commitment as well as the 4Psโ€™ greatest contribution to his familyโ€“that is sparking their confidence to reach their dreams through opportunities and hard work.

TINGNAN: Namahagi ng kabuuhang PhP 900,000 na tulong-pinansyal ang DSWD noong Mayo 21, 2026 sa mga Persons with Disability (PWDs) mula sa Padre Burgos, Quezon na sumailalim sa Cash-for-Work program ng KALAHI-CIDSS.

Sa ilalim ng programa, ang mga kalahok ay nagsagawa ng ibaโ€™t ibang gawaing pangkomunidad sa loob ng itinakdang bilang ng araw, alinsunod sa kanilang kakayahan at kondisyon, katulad ng pangangalaga sa kapaligiran at pagbibigay ng suporta sa mga opisina ng barangay. Layunin ng programa na mabigyan ng pansamantalang pagkakakitaan ang mga kabilang sa nangangailangang sektor, katulad ng PWDs at mga estudyante, kasabay ng panghihikayat sa kanilang aktibong partisipasyon sa pagpapaunlad ng komunidad.

Ang financial assistance na kanilang tinanggap ay naglayong maibsan ang gastusin sa pang-araw-araw na pamumuhay gaya ng pagkain at mga gamot o serbisyong medikal. Bukod sa pinansyal na ayuda, nagsisilbi rin ang programa bilang hakbang tungo sa mas inklusibong oportunidad para sa mga PWD, kung saan kinikilala ang kanilang kakayahan at mahalagang ambag sa lipunan.

Bukod sa natanggap ng mga PWD na financial assistance, nakatanggap din ng subsidiya ang kanilang mga caregivers sa ilalim ng TheraFee project. [with Reports from GLBayran]

DSWD reaches more than 200K CALABARZON PUV drivers, riders in cash relief distribution

A total of 206,633 drivers of public utility vehicles (PUV) in the CALABARZON Region have already received Cash Relief Assistance (CRA) from the DSWD in a series of distribution activities conducted in various localities as of June 2, 2026.

This number includes 192,772 tricycle drivers, 13,692 jeepney drivers, and 169 private express and messengerial delivery service riders whose sources of income have been affected by the oil price hike amid the Middle East Crisis.

The CRA, implemented under the DSWDโ€™s Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situations, provided PhP 5,000 financial assistance to qualified PUV drivers to augment their daily needs.

In the CALABARZON Region, the distribution of CRA started last April 8, 2026 and is continuously being conducted to reach more PUV drivers and service delivery riders. #

TINGNAN: Patuloy ang boluntaryong pakikiisa ng mga benepisyaryo ng Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) sa CALABARZON para sa paghahanda ng mga paaralan sa pagbubukas ng klase sa susunod na linggo.

Simula kahapon, sa pagbubukas ng taunang Brigada Eskwela ng Department of Education (DepEd), nagbigay ng ibaโ€™t ibang suporta ang mga City / Municipal Operations Offices ng 4Ps at mga benepisyaryo sa mga gawain tulad ng paglilinis at pagpipintura.

Sa 4Ps, patuloy na pinalalakas ang kamalayan ng bawat pamilyang benepisyaryo sa kahalagahan ng edukasyon at responsibilidad sa komunidad para sa pagpapaunlad ng kani-kanilang pamilya.

Kung kayaโ€™t sa mga gawain tulad ng Brigada Eskwela taun-taon, patuloy na hinihikayat ng Kagawaran ang pakikiisa ng mga benepisyaryo tungo sa mas maayos at ligtas na pag-aaral ng kani-kanilang mga anak at iba pang miyembro ng kanilang komunidad.

TINGNAN: Noong Mayo 29, natapos ang 20-araw na implementasyon ng Tara Basa! Tutoring Program sa iba't ibang bayan ng Quezon at mga lungsod ng Lucena (Quezon), Bacoor (Cavite) , at Calaca (Batangas).

Sa loob ng 20 araw na sesyon, mahigit 10,500 na learners ang nagabayan sa pagbabasa kasabay ng pagtuturo sa kanilang mga magulang sa maayos na paggabay sa tahanan.

Sa pagtatapos ng implementasyon ng programa sa mga nasabing lokalidad, binibigyan ng pagkilala ng Kagawaran ang 1,673 na tutors at youth development workers na naging pangunahing katuwang sa pagsasagawa ng mga tutorial at parenting sessions.

Samantala, nagpapatuloy pa rin ang implementasyon ng Tara, Basa! sa Tayabas City, Quezon at inaasahang magtatapos ito sa Hunyo 4, 2026.

DSWD rolls out PCRP training, equips ACTs for community-led resilience planning

The DSWD Field Office IV-A capacitated the Area Coordinating Teams (ACTs) from eight municipalities in Quezon Province on the Community Resilience Implementation Process from May 18-21, 2026.

The ACTs, composed mainly of staff of the DSWD, will lead the implementation of the Panahon ng Pagkilos: Philippine Community Resilience Project (PCRP), the newest modality of the DSWD's Kapit-Bisig Laban sa Kahirapan-Comprehensive and Integrated Delivery of Social Services (Kalahi-CIDSS).

Through the training, the ACTs were also able to craft their action plans to provide specific support to the communities in planning and recovering from disasters, climate change, and economic shocks.

This year, the Kalahi-CIDSS PCRP will be implemented in the municipalities of Burdeos, San Andres, Polillo, Infanta, Panukulan, Patnanungan, Atimonan, and San Francisco, Quezon. [with reports from JHBallesteros]

DSWD awards P3.1M capital assistance to 9 Laguna livelihood associations

Nine (9) associations from Siniloan, Laguna received a total of Php 3.1 Million seed capital fund under the DSWDโ€™s Sustainable Livelihood Program last May 28, 2026.

These SLP Associations had already undergone leadership and business skills training prior to receiving the said capital assistance, which is equivalent to Php 15,000 per member.

According to DSWD Project Development Officer Chanda Revadenera, four of the associations, namely the Ayali Go Cares SLP Association, Beautiful Lady of Buhay SLP Association, Bigasan ng Magsaysay SLP Association, Liyang Mighty Farmers SLP Association, are expected to use the assistance to start their respective rice retailing enterprises.

Meanwhile, the Angat Manggagawa SLP Association, Pandeรฑo Toda SLP Association, Go Dreamers SLP Association, Siniloan Food Corner SLP Association, and Siniloan Market Vendors Food Hub SLP Association are expected to start their planned businesses on cattle raising, motorcycle spare parts dealing, meat processing, food cart rentals, and food vending services, respectively.

Under the SLP, the DSWD organizes qualified individuals into SLP Associations, then capacitates them with business management and leadership training and provides them with seed capital fund to start group enterprises and ensure a sustainable source of additional income for the members and their respective families.
