Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Undersecretary Warren M. Miclat represented the Department as keynote speaker during the Davao de Oro Provincial Governmentโs culmination of Handog ng Pangulo, held at the Capitol Ground and Provincial Complex in Nabunturan, September 14, 2026. His presence highlighted the national governmentโs commitment to bringing employment, livelihood, and social protection programs closer to Filipino workers and their families.
The provincial culmination gathered 20 local and national government agencies and more than 2,000 participants for the ceremonial turnover of various government programs and services. Usec. Miclat delivered his keynote message following the address of Davao de Oro Provincial Governor Engr. Raul Mabanglo, emphasizing the governmentโs continuing efforts to respond to the needs of workers and vulnerable sectors through accessible and coordinated public services.
Joining Usec. Warren M. Miclat on stage were DOLE XI Assistant Regional Director Atty. Kim Lagcao and DOLE Davao de Oro Field Office Provincial Director Neil Allan R. Baban during the ceremonial turnover of DOLEโs employment and livelihood interventions to qualified beneficiaries. The officials led the presentation of Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) assistance for distressed Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) and persons with disabilities, alongside livelihood assistance aimed at helping beneficiaries establish and strengthen sustainable sources of income.
The Capitol celebration was complemented by simultaneous DOLE activities at Nabunturan National Comprehensive High School, featuring a Job Fair, TUPAD pay-out, and turnover of livelihood grants, led by DOLE Assistant Secretary Loreto Acharon and Regional Director Atty. Dax Villaruel.
Together, these initiatives demonstrated DOLEโs continuing commitment under Secretary Tolentinoโs leadership to a worker-centered, employment-driven, and convergence-based approach to public service, ensuring that government programs translate into meaningful opportunities and tangible assistance for Filipino workers.
