Held along P. Inocentes Street in front of the Naval Gymnasium, the vibrant street party featured electrifying performances by KAYE, Bon Festejo, Charlz, MC Gil, Vincent John, and Cristian Salve, filling the night with unforgettable music, dazzling lights, and lively entertainment.

More than just a street party, Tsinelas Party symbolizes unity and equality, where everyone, regardless of status, comes together in simple slippers to celebrate a shared identity and community spirit.

With its pulsating beats, energetic dance zones, and festive atmosphere, the celebration became a meaningful expression of togetherness, joy, and local pride.

The Municipality of Naval came alive with vibrant colors, rhythmic beats, and cultural pride as the Nasombol Festival Grand Showdown 2026 took center stage in celebration of the town’s Religious Fiesta in honor of Our Lady of the Rosary.

More than a festive spectacle, Nasombol Festival reflects Naval’s continuing journey of rediscovering its roots, preserving its rich cultural heritage, and strengthening the identity that unites its people. Through captivating street dances and meaningful performances, participating contingents showcased their creativity, dedication, and deep appreciation of the town’s history and traditions.

The celebration was graced by Municipal and Provincial officials, led by Governor Rogelio J. Espina and Mayor Gretchen Stephanie M. Espina, together with distinguished guests, Biliran Province State University President Dr. Victor Cañezo, participating contingents, and community partners.

NAVAL, BILIRAN — The newly opened DMW Biliran Provincial Office began its mission on its very first day—by serving a Biliranon who needed help.

During its launching on September 30, 2026, Biliranon seafarer Ricmar Anonat became the office’s first client. After returning home when his overseas employment was affected by the Middle East crisis, he sought assistance and was referred to the newly opened Department of Migrant Workers (DMW )office.

“Dako gyud akon pasalamat nga naa na’y DMW office diri sa Biliran. Dili na kami kinahanglan moadto pa sa Tacloban kung mangayo og tabang. Mas duol na ug mas sayon para namong mga OFW ug seafarer ang pag-avail sa serbisyo sa DMW.”

His story gave the opening day a meaningful start. A new office, a first client, and a clear reminder that public service is most meaningful when it reaches people where they are.

With the DMW Provincial Office now in Biliran, services for OFWs, seafarers, and their families are brought closer—more accessible, more responsive, and more within reach.

Governor Espina personally visited and met with Biliranon MSMEs from Maripipi, Cabucgayan, Naval, and Almeria, expressing his support for their efforts to promote local products, expand market opportunities, and strengthen livelihoods.

BFP REGION 8 PRESENTS: FSUPT ANTHONY CADION DE PAZ
The Bureau of Fire Protection Region 8 proudly features FSUPT ANTHONY CADION DE PAZ, presently serving as the Acting Provincial Fire Marshal of OPFM Biliran. He is one of the 26 Commissioned Officers advancing to the next stage of the Search for the Ten Outstanding Firefighters of the Philippines (TOFF) 2026, and one of the two representatives from BFP Region 8.
A graduate of Bachelor of Science in Public Safety from the Philippine National Police Academy (PNPA) and a member of Tagapamagitan Class of 2013, FSUPT ANTHONY CADION DE PAZ has served the BFP in various capacities, demonstrating dedication and leadership in public safety. This AVP highlights his journey, notable accomplishments and innovations, community impact, and significant contributions to his present and previous assignments.
