"Crafting sustainable beauty, one thread at a time." ๐Ÿ‘—โœจ

When traditional craftsmanship meets modern innovation, design becomes a legacy! For this edition of , we shine the spotlight on Aklanโ€™s award-winning fashion designer, social entrepreneur, and 2023 Most Outstanding Aklanon, Sheree Remaneses-Reynaldo!

As the creative force behind Buttonsโ€™nThings and NamiAklan, Ms. Reynaldo has redefined eco-fashion by transforming local materialsโ€”from Piรฑa, Raffia, and Abaca fibers to upcycled fabric retasoโ€”into exquisite fashion accessories, wearable art, and award-winning collections. Beyond her stunning creations on the runway, she dedicatedly empowers PWDs, women, and local communities across Aklan through skills training and sustainable entrepreneurship.

Her work is a testament to how local artistry, sustainable product development, and textile design thrive within the Design domain. By championing eco-friendly materials and empowering local artisans, regional designers like Ms. Reynaldo show us that homegrown fashion is a powerful catalyst for both cultural preservation and economic growth.

As we celebrate Philippine Creative Industries Month (PCIM) under RA 11904, DTI Region VI honors the designers, artisans, and visionaries who position Western Visayas at the forefront of global style and social innovation! ๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ญ๐ŸŽจ

SPOT OVERPRICING? KNOW YOUR CONSUMER RIGHTS!

While DTI Region 6 continues to monitor supermarkets and grocery stores across the region to ensure that the prices and supply of basic necessities and prime commodities remain stable within the latest Suggested Retail Prices (SRPs), we need your help on the ground!

As a smart consumer, your vigilance is our best line of defense against unfair pricing.

Whenever you're out doing your grocery run, remember these 3 steps:

๐Ÿ” 1. VERIFY: Check the physical price tag on the shelf and cross-reference it with the official DTI SRP list. You may access the latest SRPs here: https://www.dti.gov.ph/dti-consumer-space/dti-latest-srps-basic-necessities-prime-commodities

๐Ÿ“‹ 2. DOCUMENT: Protect yourself by keeping your store receipt as solid proof of purchase.

๐Ÿ“ž 3. REPORT: Spotted an unjustified markup or overpricing? Don't stay silent!Call or message the nearest DTI Office immediately.

Your awareness is our strongest shield. Let's work hand in hand to keep our marketplace fair and honest. Share this post to keep our community informed and vigilant!

Green Steps for a More Eco-friendly Environment ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ ๐ŸŽ‹

The DTI - Aklan Provincial Office headed by OIC-Provincial Director Grace M. Benedicto, joined in the Bamboo Festival 2026 of Brgy. Dangcalan, Malinao, Aklan, in celebration of World Bamboo Day today, 18 September.

With the theme: โ€œKawayan para sa Kalikasan, Kabuhayan at Kinabukasan,โ€ the whole day activity kicked off with the Bamboo Fun Run and later on with a Bamboo Planting Activity. ๐ŸŽ‹

Each bamboo seedling planted is a small step toward a greener environment, sustainable livelihoods, and a stronger future for our communities.

Bamboo is more than just a plantโ€”it is a symbol of strength, resilience, creativity, and opportunity. And just like bamboo, our communities can grow stronger when we work together.

Happy World Bamboo Day! ๐ŸŽ‹โœจ
