It’s time to showcase the creativity, talent, and unique perspective of our Guimarasnon artists!

Here are the official entries to the Nueva Valencia Digitourism Art Contest, featuring different interpretations of our Municipal Tourism Month branding:

“Nueva Valencia: Bugal sang Turismo.”

Each artwork presents a creative take on what makes Nueva Valencia a destination worth discovering—from our natural attractions, local products, culture and heritage, people, and tourism experiences.

The Top 10 highest-ranking entries will be awarded prizes based on the final results of the judging.

Winners will be announced on October 6, 2026!

This consultation forms part of the co-creation process and overall implementation of our PH-OGP Localized flagship program, Munisipyo sa Barangay: Bringing Municipal Government Closer to the People, providing a space for our citizens to share their voices, ideas, concerns, and recommendations.

𝟔𝟎 𝐏𝐀𝐑𝐓𝐈𝐂𝐈𝐏𝐀𝐍𝐓𝐒 𝐉𝐎𝐈𝐍 𝐃𝐈𝐕𝐄 𝐍𝐔𝐄𝐕𝐀 𝐕𝐀𝐋𝐄𝐍𝐂𝐈𝐀 𝐅𝐑𝐄𝐄𝐃𝐈𝐕𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐄𝐗𝐏𝐄𝐑𝐈𝐄𝐍𝐂𝐄

Around 60 participants took part in the “Dive Nueva Valencia: Freediving Experience” held on September 26, 2026, at Sitio Guisi, Barangay Dolores, Nueva Valencia, Guimaras, as part of the municipality’s Tourism Month Celebration.

The activity was organized by the Municipality of Nueva Valencia in collaboration with Two Feet Divers, providing participants an opportunity to experience freediving while learning about the marine environment of Nueva Valencia.

Participants included a 6-year-old as the youngest and a 60-year-old as the oldest, with individuals coming from Negros Occidental, Iloilo City, Iloilo Province, and nearby municipalities in Guimaras.

One of the notable moments of the activity was the release of a sea turtle back into the ocean following months of rehabilitation under the guidance of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR). Participants witnessed the turtle’s return to its natural habitat, highlighting ongoing efforts to protect and conserve marine wildlife.

The activity also featured a Marine Litter Management discussion led by Ms. Rachel Ann M. Dequilla, Chief of the Protected Area Management and Biodiversity Conservation Unit (PAMBCU), focusing on responsible practices in handling waste and the importance of protecting marine resources during recreational and tourism activities.

The activity was conducted with the support of Atty. Paul Vincent Dela Cruz, SP Member and Chairperson of the Committee on Tourism.
