The Philippine Statistics Authority Davao del Sur Provincial Statistical Office joins the nation in observing National Flag Days, a period dedicated to honoring the Philippine flag as a representation of our nation's history, independence, and collective identity.
The observance traces its beginnings to May 28, 1898, when the Philippine flag was first unfurled in victory during the Battle of Alapan in Cavite. Today, it continues to serve as a reminder of the courage and sacrifices of those who fought for our freedom and the responsibility of every Filipino to uphold the values they stood for.
As we approach the celebration of Philippine Independence Day, let us proudly display our national flag and reflect on the ideals of patriotism, unity, and service that bind us together as one nation.
May the Philippine flag continue to inspire hope, strengthen our sense of nationhood, and remind us of our shared commitment to building a better future for all Filipinos.
