As public utilities increasingly rely on digital systems and electronic communications, protecting information and ensuring the security of online transactions are important in maintaining reliable public service.

On October 15, 2026, the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) – Romblon conducted a Cybersecurity 101 and Philippine National Public Key Infrastructure (PNPKI) Orientation for the personnel of Odiongan Water District.

The Cybersecurity 101 session covered common cyber threats, practical ways to secure accounts and devices, and safe online practices that personnel can apply in their daily work. The PNPKI Orientation introduced digital certificates and electronic signatures, highlighting how these tools help verify identities, authenticate electronic documents, and support secure digital transactions.

By equipping Odiongan Water District personnel with knowledge of cybersecurity and digital authentication, the activity supports efforts to safeguard work-related information and encourage the responsible use of digital tools in delivering public services.

Stronger cybersecurity practices and trusted digital transactions help build safer, more reliable public service.
