Hinikayat ni Romblon Vice Governor Armando Gutierrez ang mga kooperatiba sa lalawigan na maghanap ng mga grant at bumuo ng malalaking income-generating projects upang mapalakas ang kanilang operasyon at madagdagan ang benepisyo para sa mga miyembro.

Sa kanyang mensahe sa ika-20 Ragipunan o Romblon Provincial Cooperative Congress, ibinahagi ni Gutierrez ang isang halimbawa ng kooperatiba sa kumpanyang dati niyang pinagtatrabahuhan na nakatanggap ng grant mula sa isang multinational company para sa isang income-generating project.

Isinagawa noong October 7 ang pamamahagi ng rice assistance sa Barangay Madalag, Alcantara, Romblon, kung saan 111 benepisyaryo ang nakatanggap ng tig-10 kilo ng bigas.

Ang rice assistance ay bahagi ng karagdagang rice subsidy program na pinondohan mula sa β‚±5 milyong Local Government Support Fund (LGSF) ng pambansang pamahalaan.
