JUST IN:
The Department of Education issued DepEd Memorandum No. 027, s. 2026, dated May 5, 2026, titled “2026 Brigada Eskwela Implementing Guidelines.”

Based on the memorandum, the 2026 Brigada Eskwela Program will be conducted from June 1 to 5, 2026 in preparation for the opening of classes for School Year 2026–2027. This annual activity promotes the spirit of bayanihan by encouraging schools, parents, teachers, learners, LGUs, stakeholders, and community partners to work together in making schools clean, safe, functional, and ready for learners.

This year’s theme is “Bayanihan sa Paaralan: Nagkakaisa para sa Kaayusan at Kaalaman.” The program focuses on school preparation, reading and literacy support, improvement of school facilities, structural safety, clean-up drives, volunteerism, community partnerships, and accurate inventory of school resources.

The National Brigada Eskwela Kick-Off will be held on May 29, 2026 in Cabadbaran City, CARAGA, while the nationwide kick-off will be conducted on June 1, 2026. The implementation, monitoring, inventory validation, and reporting activities will take place from June 1 to 5, 2026.

Ang DepEd ay nagrelease ng DO 006, s. 2026, or Guidelines on Ensuring a Safe and Motivating Learning Environment (ESMLE).

So… what’s in it for teacher vloggers?

1. No vlogging during class time
Recording videos while teaching is discouraged/prohibited
Reason: it distracts learners and affects lesson delivery
(You cannot film content habang nagtuturo ka.)

2. Learners must NOT be exposed in content Students’ faces, voices, or identities should not appear in vlogs
This is tied to: Child protection and Data privacy laws
(Even “harmless” clips (classroom fun, recitation, etc.) can violate policy.)

3. Content creation must not interfere with duties
Teaching time = strictly for instruction
Vlogging = secondary / personal activity
(If it affects your performance → possible administrative issue.)

4. Professional image is required
Teachers are expected to model proper behavior and ethics
Online content must align with DepEd standards

Meaning: no content that:
Exploits students
Shows unprofessional conduct
Damages school reputation

So… is vlogging totally banned?❓❓❓

Not exactly — but heavily restricted.

✅Allowed Vlogging (generally safe):
Personal teacher life (outside school hours)
Educational content (no students shown)
Lesson ideas, teaching tips, reflections

❌ Not allowed:
Filming during actual class
Featuring students without proper safeguards
Using school time/resources for content creation
