Simultaneously, the New Iba Public Market was launched as the first fully digitized public market in Zambales by implementing the PalengQR Ph Plus and the Ikot Palengke Project METRO Digital App: Monitoring Enforcement Tracking Resource Online.

Project METRO is an innovative digital compliance system initiated by the DTI Zambales and Gordon College in early 2026. The PalengQR Ph Plus promotes cashless payments in public markets and local transportation sectors through QR code-based transactions. It encourages market vendors and consumers to adopt secure, convenient, and efficient digital payment methods. With Paleng-QR Ph Plus, customers can simply scan a QR code using their preferred digital banking or e-wallet application to complete transactions instantly eliminating the need for exact change and reducing the risks associated with handling cash.
