​Huge congratulations to our brilliant young learners who have successfully completed the ARAL Summer Reading Program of Barretto National High School. Over the past few weeks, our students have worked incredibly hard to strengthen their reading fluency, expand their vocabulary and sharpen their comprehension skills.

​We are immensely proud of your dedication, curiosity, and consistent effort to become more confident and capable readers. A massive thank you to our passionate ARAL tutors, supportive school head and assistant school principal, and cooperative parents who guided and encouraged them every step of the way.

​The summer might be winding down, but the adventure of reading never stops! Keep honing those skills, practicing your reading, and continuing to unlock doors to endless possibilities.

Summer ARAL Reading has just commenced at BNHS. The first week focused mainly on parents'/guardians' and students' orientation and reading pre-assessment. 18 more days to go and we are just warming up.

Barretto National High School proudly invites all learners to participate in the LITERARY DUET, one of the most powerful and inspiring performance events of National Reading Month!

This unique collaboration pairs one teacher and one student to reenact an iconic scene from a well-loved story, novel, or film;hence, bringing literature to life through voice, emotion, and movement.

The Literary Duet is a collaborative performance reading activity where a teacher–student pair dramatizes a memorable literary or cinematic moment. This tandem performance promotes:

✅ expressive reading
✅ composure and confidence
✅ character portrayal
✅ creativity in interpretation
✅ deeper comprehension through embodied storytelling

It highlights the power of partnership as both mentor and learner share the stage to celebrate the magic of narrative art.
