OLONGAPO CITY β Barangay West Bajac-Bajac, through its Barangay Rescue and Disaster Response Unit (WBB BRADRU), emerged as the overall champion in the 6th Olongapo City Fire Olympics held on March 18, 2026.
The annual event gathered participating barangays to compete in various fire and rescue challenges, testing their skills in emergency response, coordination, speed, and teamwork. Fire Olympics activities are typically conducted to strengthen preparedness and ensure that local responders are equipped to handle real-life fire incidents and disasters.
WBB BRADRU showcased strong performance throughout the competition, demonstrating discipline and technical skills that led them to secure the top spot among the competing teams.
The Fire Olympics also served as a platform to enhance cooperation among barangay responders, the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), and local disaster risk reduction units, reinforcing a unified approach to public safety.
Local officials and organizers emphasized that beyond competition, the activity highlights the importance of continuous training and readiness, especially in responding to emergencies that may affect communities.
Barangay West Bajac-Bajac officials expressed gratitude to all members and supporters, recognizing the teamβs effort and dedication in achieving the championship.

Meanwhile Calls made to OLONGAPO 911 using Globe, TM, and DITO SIM cards are automatically routed and answered by NCR 911.
Due to the high volume of calls handled by NCR 911, callers may experience longer waiting times or extended call queues.

After the devastation caused by Super Typhoon Uwan, we witnessed the true spirit of bayanihan in Olongapo City through the courage and kindness of our responders and volunteers. They risked their lives to rescue the stranded, clear the road, and help rebuild communities. Despite exhaustion and danger, they continued to serve with compassion and dedication.
To all our heroes β the rescuers, health workers, uniformed personnel, barangays and volunteers β we extend our deepest thanks. Your bravery brought hope in the midst of hardship and reminded us that unity and care for one another can overcome any storm.
