2nd Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED)

Barangay Riverside, Oras, Eastern Samar actively participated in the 2nd Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) together with the Barangay Officials, Barangay Employees, Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO), and the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP).

The activity aimed to enhance earthquake preparedness, promote disaster awareness, and strengthen the community's capacity to respond effectively during emergencies. Participants practiced the proper "Duck, Cover, and Hold" procedure and followed evacuation and safety protocols.

In addition, the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) conducted a fire safety orientation and fire drill. BFP personnel discussed fire prevention and emergency response measures and demonstrated fire suppression techniques using a controlled fire in a drum. They showed participants how to safely cover the fire to cut off its oxygen supply and effectively extinguish the flames. The demonstration provided valuable knowledge on basic fire safety and proper actions during fire incidents.

Through this activity, Barangay Riverside remains committed to promoting disaster preparedness, awareness, and community resilience, ensuring the safety and well-being of all residents.
