Two Oton-based micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) assisted by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) through the Negosyo Center Oton were among the completers of the recently concluded Negosyo Center Packaging, Regulatory Compliance, Intellectual Property, and Product Design Enhancement (NC PRIDE) Program.
Ma. Freda Cabarles of 𝗙𝗿𝗲𝗱𝗮’𝘀 𝗙𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝘀 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝘂𝗳𝗮𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 and Cristy Jane Dumpit of 𝗕𝗮𝗸𝗲𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗽 𝗻𝗶 𝗧𝘂𝘁𝗮 joined 25 newly assisted MSMEs from Negosyo Centers across Iloilo City and Province in the program, which aimed to strengthen the competitiveness of local enterprises through improved product presentation, packaging, regulatory awareness, and intellectual property protection.
The culminating activity featured a learning session on Copyrights, Patents, and Trademarks, providing MSMEs with practical knowledge on protecting their brands, products, and creative works as they expand their businesses.
A highlight of the program was the awarding of enhanced product label designs and packaging materials developed for participating MSMEs following a series of consultations with the NC PRIDE in-house designers.
Through initiatives such as NC PRIDE, DTI continues to support MSMEs beyond business registration and basic entrepreneurship assistance by helping them improve their products, strengthen their market identity, comply with relevant requirements, and protect their intellectual property.
The program also underscores DTI's commitment to providing accessible, practical, and responsive assistance to MSMEs, recognizing that improved product quality, packaging, branding, and compliance can contribute to stronger market presence and sustainable business growth.
