Enhancing Skills, Ensuring Safety!
The Ozamiz City Jail Male Dormitory, under the leadership of JSINSP JEFFREY A RIBLES, successfully conducted a Firearm Proficiency Seminar aimed at strengthening the operational readiness and safety awareness of its personnel.
The activity was led by JO2 Jerrymaejay E Tapayan and JO1 Jomarie Osabel, proud members of the S.T.A.R. team, who expertly facilitated a comprehensive review and hands-on demonstration of essential firearm fundamentals. Topics included gun safety rules, proper handling, correct stance, aiming techniques, breathing control, and the basics of shooting.
This seminar served as a valuable refresher for personnel, reinforcing discipline, responsibility, and precision in firearm use. By revisiting these critical skills, participants are better equipped to perform their duties with confidence, minimize risks, and uphold the highest standards of safety and professionalism in their daily operations.

On April 08, 2026, the Ozamiz City Jail Male Dormitory, under the leadership of JSINSP JEFFREY A RIBLES, represented by JO1 Kristelle Mae A Fuentebella and JO1 Orland A Miculob, actively participated in the La Salle University Ozamiz – College of Criminal Justice Education activity.
The event focused on enhancing the academic and learning experiences of students through meaningful discussions on curriculum review, industry and agency insights, professional experiences, and networking opportunities.
This collaboration played a vital role in helping shape the future of the College of Criminal Justice Education, ensuring that its academic programs remain responsive and aligned with the ever-evolving demands of the criminal justice profession.

IN PHOTOS | On April 08, 2026 at OOA 0900H, an Information Drive and Seminar was successfully conducted inside the facility, attended by twenty-four (24) personnel of Ozamiz City Jail- Male Dormitory, nine (9) intern students from La Salle University and nineteen (19) PDL.
The activity aimed to raise awareness among the personnel and PDL on relevant City Ordinances and to educate them on Climate Change Mitigation practices. The activity was conducted in partnership with the Local Government Unit - Solid Waste and Environmental Management Office (LGU-SWEMO), represented by the following officers: Benzene L. Balcita, CDS II Joel A. Balcita, ADA VI, Ian B. Abellanida, Sarah Del Pozo.
The resource speakers oriented the personnel and PDL on relevant local ordinances, particularly those relating to peace and order, sanitation, and public safety and also emphasized the importance of individual and collective actions in mitigating climate change, highlighting waste segregation, tree planting, and conservation practices. The activity was well-received by the participants, who expressed appreciation for the opportunity to learn and be informed. The seminar not only promoted civic awareness but also encouraged behavioral change, in line with the reformation goals of the facility.

𝐓𝐨𝐝𝐚𝐲! the Ozamiz City Jail – Male Dormitory conducted the Station of the Cross under the supervision of 𝐉𝐒𝐈𝐍𝐒𝐏 𝐉𝐄𝐅𝐅𝐑𝐄𝐘 𝐀 𝐑𝐈𝐁𝐋𝐄𝐒, Jail Warden. The activity was participated in by Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDL), fostering a solemn atmosphere of prayer and reflection on the passion of Jesus Christ.
Selected PDL actively led the prayers and reflections, promoting spiritual engagement, unity, and personal renewal among participants. The activity highlighted the importance of faith, forgiveness, and hope, contributing to the moral and spiritual development of the PDL while maintaining order and security throughout the conduct of the program.

March 20, 2026: The Ozamiz City Jail – Male Dormitory conducted the distribution of training outputs and certificates to Criminology students of La Salle University. Under the supervision of 𝐉𝐒𝐈𝐍𝐒𝐏 𝐉𝐄𝐅𝐅𝐑𝐄𝐘 𝐀 𝐑𝐈𝐁𝐋𝐄𝐒, Jail Warden, the activity provided the interns an opportunity to present and reflect on the knowledge and experiences they acquired throughout their training.
The program also served as a means to evaluate whether the interns expectations were achieved, while addressing and correcting common misconceptions about the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) and Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs). This enabled the participants to gain a deeper and more accurate understanding of their roles and responsibilities.

March 19, 2026: The dedicated personnel of the Ozamiz City Jail – Male Dormitory, led by 𝐉𝐒𝐈𝐍𝐒𝐏 𝐉𝐄𝐅𝐅𝐑𝐄𝐘 𝐀 𝐑𝐈𝐁𝐋𝐄𝐒 actively participated in a Zumba exercise as part of their ongoing commitment to health and wellness. This activity promotes not only physical fitness but also camaraderie, stress relief, and overall well-being among personnel.
Through initiatives like this, jail personnel continue to uphold a balanced and healthy lifestyle, enabling them to perform their duties with energy, focus, and resilience. On March 19, 2026, 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐁𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐮 𝐨𝐟 𝐅𝐢𝐫𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 (BFP) - 𝐎𝐳𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐳 𝐂𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐅𝐢𝐫𝐞 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 conducted Fire Safety Measures Seminar promoting this years theme "𝐒𝐚 𝐏𝐚𝐠-𝐈𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐬𝐚 𝐒𝐮𝐧𝐨𝐠, 𝐇𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐢 𝐤𝐚 𝐍𝐚𝐠-𝐢𝐢𝐬𝐚" , under the supervision of 𝐉𝐒𝐈𝐍𝐒𝐏 𝐉𝐄𝐅𝐅𝐑𝐄𝐘 𝐀 𝐑𝐈𝐁𝐋𝐄𝐒, Jail Warden of Ozamiz City Jail – Male Dormitory. This campaign underscores the vital role of collective responsibility in ensuring fire safety across all sectors of society, including custodial and jail facilities.
In jail facilities, fire safety is a shared responsibility among personnel and Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs). Through strict adherence to safety protocols, regular inspections, and active participation in fire prevention efforts, we can ensure a safer and more secure environment for all.
