The Department of Agrarian Reform Regional Office X, led by Regional Information Officer III Wilfredo P. Hisona, Jr., together with the Regional StratComms Team, in partnership with the DARPO Misamis Occidental SPLIT StratComms Team, introduced PelikulAgraryo 2026 to students of La Salle University Ozamiz through an engaging orientation that sparked strong interest among aspiring student filmmakers.

Students expressed their enthusiasm and eagerness to participate, recognizing the film festival as a meaningful platform to showcase their creativity while telling the stories on both DARCRFF categories: Agrarian Reform Beneficiary and Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries Organizations.

The session, facilitated by DARRO X and DARPO Misamis Occidental, highlighted the competition’s guidelines and mechanics, while also gaining inspiration from selected winning entries from the previous year.

The activity was conducted in coordination with Ted Nudgent Tac-an, Director of the Student Affairs Center, who extended full support to the initiative and encouraged students to actively take part in the film festival.

Regional Director Zoraida O. Macadindang, Al-Hadj, JD, expressed her unwavering support for the initiative, highlighting the power of the youth in translating agrarian reform stories into compelling narratives, with hopes that these efforts will shine in the national awarding.

With energy and excitement filling the room, the activity marked the beginning of La Salle University Ozamiz’s journey in PelikulAgraryo 2026, ready to translate passion into powerful visual storytelling.

The Department of Agrarian Reform Regional Office X, in partnership with DARPO Misamis Occidental, brought PelikulAgraryo 2026 to USTP Panaon through an orientation that gathered aspiring student filmmakers in understanding the relevance of agrarian reform in today’s generation.

The orientation was facilitated by DARRO X and DARPO Misamis Occidental, with coordination support from Christopher R. Balaba, Head of the Research, Innovation and Extension Section of USTP Panaon, together with faculty members he designated to assist in organizing and supporting the film competition.

The session focused on presenting PelikulAgraryo as a platform for the youth to translate real-life experiences from Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries and Organizations into meaningful visual narratives. DARRO X also walked the participants through the guidelines and mechanics of the competition and shared selected works from last year’s winning entries to provide context and inspiration for their own film concepts.

Regional Director Zoraida O. Macadindang, Al-Hadj, JD, conveyed her full support for this year’s PelikulAgraryo, emphasizing the important role of young storytellers in shaping public understanding of agrarian reform and in bringing these stories to a wider audience.

The activity also provided an opportunity to personally meet and engage with the official student team who will represent USTP Panaon in the upcoming film festival, marking the beginning of their journey in bringing impactful agrarian narratives to the screen.

The DAR Provincial Office of Misamis Occidental recently hosted the Joint Updating of the Synchronize Monitoring Tool (SMT) for Project SPLIT, warmly welcoming the visiting delegation from DAR Lanao del Norte led by 𝐏𝐀𝐑𝐏𝐎 𝐈𝐈 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐞 𝐕𝐢𝐥 𝐌. 𝐂𝐨𝐝𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐚, 𝐉𝐃. Held at Bethany Gardens in Ozamiz City, the gathering focused on reviewing project progress and ironing out landholding concerns to pave the way for the upcoming mass distribution of e-titles.

The event kicked off with a solemn opening prayer led by 𝐂𝐀𝐑𝐏𝐎 𝐊𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐌𝐚𝐞 𝐌. 𝐄𝐬𝐩𝐢𝐠𝐚 of ARBDSP. 𝐏𝐂𝐀𝐎 𝐋𝐢𝐭𝐚 𝐓. 𝐓𝐨𝐫𝐫𝐞𝐬 then officially welcomed the attendees with her opening remarks. This was followed by inspiring messages from 𝐏𝐀𝐑𝐏𝐎 𝐈𝐈 𝐑𝐨𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐨 𝐌. 𝐋𝐢𝐛𝐞𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐨, 𝐉𝐫., 𝐂𝐏𝐀 and PARPO II Codilla. 𝐎𝐈𝐂-𝐏𝐀𝐑𝐏𝐎 𝐈 𝐃𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐥𝐨 𝐌. 𝐏𝐢𝐥𝐚𝐫 then laid out the rationale for the activity so all participants knew exactly what the joint assessment aimed to achieve.

During the main session, both DARPO Lanao and DARPO Misamis Occidental presented the latest SMT updates. The highlight was the open forum, where 𝐀𝐑𝐃𝐎 𝐀𝐛𝐝𝐮𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐡 𝐌. 𝐋𝐢𝐧𝐨𝐠, 𝐒𝐡.𝐋., 𝐉𝐃, and 𝐂𝐏𝐌𝐎 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐑𝐃 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐀𝐛𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐚 stepped in to guide the discussions. They shared practical advice and technical inputs to help the teams navigate implementation challenges, brainstorm ideas, and resolve specific operational bottlenecks related to the landholdings.

Wrapping up a highly productive day, 𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐞𝐟 𝐋𝐞𝐠𝐚𝐥 𝐀𝐭𝐭𝐲. 𝐀𝐝𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐨 𝐆. 𝐁𝐚𝐡𝐢𝐚𝐧, 𝐉𝐫. delivered the closing remarks, reminding everyone that shared accountability is the key to successfully hitting the goals of Project SPLIT.

DAR Misamis Occidental is looking for talented college students to join the DAR Central and Regional Film Festival 2026 (DARCRFF 2026).

This year’s theme: "𝐓𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐠 𝐧𝐠 𝐋𝐮𝐩𝐚𝐧𝐠 𝐌𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐲𝐚: 𝐊𝐰𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐨 𝐚𝐭 𝐀𝐫𝐚𝐥-𝐀𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐫𝐲𝐨, 𝐁𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐥 𝐧𝐚 𝐏𝐚𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐚 𝐬𝐚 𝐊𝐚𝐛𝐚𝐭𝐚𝐚𝐧"

The challenge is simple but powerful: shoot a 10–20 minute narrative film that highlights the real, inspiring journeys, struggles, and triumphs of Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries (ARBs) and farming communities. This is a chance to use cinema to show exactly how agrarian reform transforms lives across the region.
