The Bureau of Jail Management and Penology Regional Office IX, under the leadership of 𝐉𝐂𝐒𝐔𝐏𝐓 𝐀𝐌𝐀𝐃𝐎 𝐀 𝐂𝐎𝐍𝐂𝐄𝐏𝐂𝐈𝐎𝐍 𝐉𝐑, 𝐂𝐄𝐒𝐄, joins the Muslim community in the observance of Eid al-Adha, a sacred celebration that reflects faith, sacrifice, obedience, and compassion.

May 26, 2025, the 𝐃𝐄𝐏𝐀𝐑𝐓𝐌𝐄𝐍𝐓 𝐎𝐅 𝐋𝐀𝐁𝐎𝐑 𝐀𝐍𝐃 𝐄𝐌𝐏𝐋𝐎𝐘𝐌𝐄𝐍𝐓 (DOLE) Zamboanga del Sur Field Office successfully conducted the turnover of livelihood kits to selected five (5) PDLs from (PCJMD) and two (2) beneficiaries from (PCJFD) as part of its continuing support for the welfare and rehabilitation of PDLs. The said activity was also graced by the presence of 𝐉𝐂𝐈𝐍𝐒𝐏 𝐍𝐎𝐑𝐁𝐄𝐑𝐓𝐎 𝐃 𝐁𝐀𝐍𝐀 𝐕, Acting Jail Warden of Pagadian City Jail Male Dormitory, together with 𝐉𝐈𝐍𝐒𝐏 𝐑𝐔𝐄𝐋 𝐅 𝐂𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐁𝐎𝐆, Chief Welfare and Development, and 𝐒𝐉𝐎𝟑 𝐑𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐧 𝐑. 𝐒𝐚𝐥𝐚, Acting Jail Warden of Pagadian City Jail Female Dormitory.

The activity was spearheaded by 𝐌𝐬. 𝐌𝐢𝐫𝐚𝐟𝐥𝐨𝐫 𝐉. 𝐂𝐚𝐬𝐚𝐧𝐞𝐬, Provincial Director of DOLE-ZDSFO, together with TUPAD Coordinators 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐣𝐨 𝐄. 𝐂𝐚𝐛𝐚𝐦𝐛𝐢𝐚𝐬, 𝐀𝐥𝐛𝐞𝐫𝐭 𝐒𝐮𝐦𝐚𝐜𝐥𝐚𝐨, and 𝐑𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐝𝐲𝐧 𝐒𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐨; 𝐊𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐧 𝐀. 𝐂𝐮𝐦𝐚𝐰𝐚𝐬, DTI Development Analyst; 𝐑𝐞𝐦𝐲 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐞 𝐍. 𝐊𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐨, SSS-CEO II; 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐀𝐧𝐧 𝐂𝐡𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐛𝐢𝐨, SSS Senior Analyst; and Livelihood Development Specialists 𝐍𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐆𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐑𝐨𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞 and 𝐋𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐲 𝐓𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐝𝐨.

The successful turnover of livelihood kits reflects the government’s commitment to providing hope, livelihood opportunities, and sustainable support for PDL beneficiaries, while promoting rehabilitation, productivity, and self-sufficiency.

May 25, 2026, a grand launching of Bread Project 𝟑𝑩’𝒔 (𝑩𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒅 𝑩𝒆𝒚𝒐𝒏𝒅 𝑩𝒂𝒓𝒔) was conducted at JH Cerilles State College, in partnership with the Department of Science and Technology (DOST Regional Office No. IX), Pagadian City Jail Male Dormitory - BJMPR9, and other invited agencies.

The said activity promotes not only baked products specially made by the skilled Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs) of PCJMD under the leadership of 𝐉𝐂𝐈𝐍𝐒𝐏 𝐍𝐎𝐑𝐁𝐄𝐑𝐓𝐎 𝐃. 𝐁𝐀𝐍𝐀 𝐕, Acting Jail Warden, but also highlights the importance of rehabilitation, empowerment, and livelihood development within the facility.

The program serves as a platform for the PDLs to showcase their talents and skills in baking while encouraging self-worth, productivity, and preparation for reintegration into society. It also reflects the strong collaboration among partner agencies in supporting sustainable livelihood and transformational programs for the welfare of the PDLs.

As one facility, we continue to support initiatives that promote hope, growth, and opportunities for every PDL towards positive transformation and a better future.🥖🍞🥐

May 25, 2026, as part of the continuous support in highlighting the baking skills and capabilities of our Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs), the (DOST Regional Office No. IX), Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and JH Cerilles State College officially launched the Project Bread Products or 𝟑𝐁’𝐬 “𝓑𝓻𝓮𝓪𝓭 𝓑𝓮𝔂𝓸𝓷𝓭 𝓑𝓪𝓻𝓼.”

Under the active leadership of 𝐉𝐂𝐈𝐍𝐒𝐏 𝐍𝐎𝐑𝐁𝐄𝐑𝐓𝐎 𝐃 𝐁𝐀𝐍𝐀 𝐕, Acting Jail Warden of Pagadian City Jail Male Dormitory - BJMPR9, together with 𝐌𝐑. 𝐂𝐇𝐑𝐈𝐒𝐓𝐈𝐀𝐍 𝐂𝐀𝐑𝐋 𝐑 𝐑𝐄𝐒𝐄𝐍𝐓𝐄, Supervising Science Research Specialist of DOST Zamboanga del Sur, 𝐌𝐑. 𝐑𝐈𝐂𝐀𝐑𝐃𝐎 𝐉 𝐀𝐏𝐎𝐋𝐈𝐍𝐀𝐑𝐈𝐎 𝐈𝐈𝐈, OIC Provincial S&T Director, and 𝐌𝐑. 𝐄𝐃𝐆𝐀𝐑𝐃𝐎 𝐇 𝐑𝐎𝐒𝐀𝐋𝐄𝐒, the said activity aimed to empower PDLs by enhancing their knowledge and skills in bread and pastry production, food safety, and product development.

The launching of the program serves as an opportunity for the PDLs to develop livelihood skills that may help them become productive individuals and prepare them for reintegration into society. It also reflects the strong collaboration among partner agencies in supporting rehabilitation and transformation programs within the facility.

The activity serves as a manifestation of the facility’s dedication to maintaining camaraderie, discipline, and efficient service to the community.
