The second day of the DENR Express: Permitting on Wheels (POW) at CityMall Dipolog, Dipolog City successfully concluded its two-day run, with the Mines and Geosciences Bureau Regional Office IX (MGB-IX) logging a major milestone by serving a total of 159 clients, project proponents, and mining stakeholders.

Bringing government services closer to the people, the DENR Express: Permitting on Wheels (POW) once again rolls out in Region IX to deliver faster, more accessible, and client-centered environmental and mining frontline services at CityMall Dipolog, Dipolog City, serving clients on May 25โ26, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
As part of this nationwide initiative, the Mines and Geosciences Bureau Regional Office IX (MGB-IX), through its Mobile One Stop Shop, continues to provide on-site permitting, certification, geoscientific assessments, technical assistance, and other frontline services closer to communities and stakeholders.
During the opening ceremony, Engr. Ramil Mundo, Chief of Mine Management Division, delivered a message of support on behalf of MGB IX Regional Director Engr. Hernani Abdon, emphasizing the Office's continued commitment to guiding and assisting small-scale miners toward responsible and legal mining operations, especially in Zamboanga del Norte.
A total of 112 clients were served for Day 1 highlighting the following:

The Mines and Geosciences Bureau Regional Office IX (MGB-IX), represented by Engr. Karll Colleen Contreras, Economist II, participated in the Workshop on the Implementation of the Philippine Ecosystem and Natural Capital Accounting System (PENCAS) Act (Republic Act No. 11995) and a Technical Session on Water Flow Accounts in Region IX, organized by the Philippine Statistics Authority โ Regional Statistical Services Office IX on May 19โ20, 2026 at Tindalo Hall, LM Metro Hotel, Zamboanga City.
The two-day workshop featured discussions on the salient provisions of the PENCAS Act and its Implementing Rules and Regulations (IRR), institutional frameworks and regional mechanisms for environmental accounts implementation, and a SWOT analysis on the implementation of PENCAS. Participants also took part in technical sessions on Water Flow Accounts and the integration of environmental and economic data using the PENCAS and System of Environmental-Economic Accounting (SEEA) framework.
As the government agency mandated to conserve, develop, and ensure the responsible utilization of the countryโs mineral resources, MGB-IX actively contributes technical inputs during the workshop on the integration of mineral sector data into environmental-economic accounting systems.
Through this participation, the Bureau reaffirms its steadfast commitment to responsible resource management, environmental stewardship, and the advancement of sustainable development initiatives in Region IX.
