Mula sa Pangako, Patungo sa Konektadong Bagong Pilipinas

Bilang tugon sa utos ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr. na palawakin ang connectivity, patuloy na isinusulong ng Department of Information and Communication Technology (DICT), sa pangunguna ni Secretary Henry Aguda, ang paghahatid ng maayos at libreng internet mula sa mga isla ng Batanes hanggang sa dulo ng Tawi-tawi.

As of June 2025, ang Pilipinas ay mayroon nanv 18,760 active Free Wi-Fi access points sa 9,379 na lokasyon, at sumasaklaw sa 5,987 barangay, sa ilalim ng DICT Free Public Internet Access Program (FPIAP).

Sa sektor ng edukasyon, mula sa 60%, umangat na sa 76% ang mga paaralang may internet access. Patuloy ang pagsusumikap ng DICT na ikonekta ang mas maraming paaraalan lalo na ang mga nasa liblib na lugar.

Sa kabilang dako, noong 2024, ipinangako ng DICT na matatapos ang National Fiber Backbone (NFB) Phases 2 at 3 sa taong 2026, ngunit dahil sa mas mabilis na aksyon at pagtutulungan ng mga ahensya at pribadong sektor, matatapos na ngayon taon ang NFB Phases 2 at 3. Ang mabilis na progreso sa connectivity ng bansa ay patunay na sa Digital Bayanihan kapag sama-sama, posible ang mabilis at maayos na serbisyo.

Sa tuloy-tuloy na inisyatiba ng DICT, unti-unti nang naisasakatuparan ang layunin na magkaroon ng mas inklusibo, maayos, at konektadong Bagong Pilipinas kung saan walang maiiwan offline.


DICT - Free Wi-Fi for All DICT National Broadband Program

Sa utos ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr. na pabilisin at padaliin ang pagbibigay ng serbisyo ng gobyerno sa iisang app, mas pinaigting ang eGovPH Super App.

Sa pamumuno ni DICT Secretary Henry Aguda, mas marami nang integrated at magagamit na serbisyo, lahat nasa iisang digital platform para sa mas mabilis, mas inclusive na serbisyo para sa bawat Pilipino. Dapat walang naiiwan, dapat sama-sama. Ang bilin nga ng Pangulo, nobody should be left offline.

The DICT ZDS Team successfully conducted a two-day Cybersecurity and Data Privacy Awareness Seminar and eGovPH App Users Training for selected personnel of the 1st Signal Battalion on July 24–25, 2025.

The training aimed to raise awareness on the importance of cybersecurity and proper data handling. Participants were introduced to common online threats such as phishing, scams, and malware, and were taught best practices in protecting personal and government data. The session also covered the key points of the Data Privacy Act of 2012 to guide them in handling sensitive information.

In addition, the DICT team provided a hands-on orientation on the eGovPH Super App, a government platform that brings various public services into one mobile application. Participants were guided on how to create an account, navigate the app, and access services such as digital IDs, national government services, and more.

𝗡𝗼 𝗔𝗴𝗲 𝗟𝗶𝗺𝗶𝘁 𝗶𝗻 𝗚𝗼𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗗𝗶𝗴𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹: 𝗦𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗼𝗿𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗧𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗻𝗮 𝗦𝘁𝗲𝗽 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗗𝗶𝗴𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗔𝗴𝗲

The DICT Zamboanga del Sur Team, in partnership with the National Commission of Senior Citizens (NCSC), conducted a Digital Literacy Training and eGovPH App Orientation for senior citizens in Tabina, Zamboanga del Sur on July 23, 2025.

The training aimed to equip participants with basic digital skills and guide them in using the eGovPH Super App to access government services. Through hands-on learning sessions, they were guided on how to navigate smartphones, connect to Wi-Fi, use messaging apps, and access vital services online—helping them stay connected and informed in the digital age. Senior citizens were also able to successfully access their Digital Senior Citizen ID through the app.

This initiative supports the government’s push for digital inclusion, ensuring that senior citizens are part of the country’s ongoing digital transformation.

𝗦𝗲𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗲, 𝗦𝗺𝗮𝗿𝘁, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝗲𝗮𝗺𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘀: 𝗡𝗖𝗜𝗣 𝗜𝗫 𝗔𝗱𝗼𝗽𝘁𝘀 𝗣𝗡𝗣𝗞𝗜 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗲𝗚𝗼𝘃𝗣𝗛 𝗔𝗽𝗽

The Department of Information and Communications Technology- Zamboanga del Sur (DICT-ZDS) Team, in collaboration with the National Commission on Indigenous Peoples Region IX (NCIP IX), successfully conducted an orientation and user training on the Philippine National Public Key Infrastructure (PNPKI) and the eGovPH App for personnel of the NCIP regional office on July 22, 2025.

Participants were equipped with knowledge on the secure use of PNPKI for digital transactions and to familiarize them with the features of the eGovPH Super App, which offers integrated access to a wide range of government services through a single digital platform.
