Today, the DOST Regional Standards and Testing Laboratory (RSTL) welcomed the Department of Health Regional Office VIII – Regulations, Licensing, and Enforcement Division (DOH RO8-RLED) for its annual unannounced monitoring visit.

The team conducted a comprehensive review of the laboratory's legal documents, observed operational processes, and assessed compliance with the regulatory requirements necessary to operate as a testing laboratory.

Annual surprise monitoring visits by the DOH are an essential part of ensuring that licensed laboratories consistently uphold the highest standards of quality, safety, and regulatory compliance. These visits reinforce our commitment to delivering reliable, accurate, and quality-assured laboratory services to our clients and stakeholders.

DOST RSTL remains steadfast in its mission of maintaining excellence through continual improvement, adherence to national standards, and dedication to public service.

It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that the DOST 8 Regional Standards and Testing Laboratory mourns the passing of Aristotle A. Mazo, our esteemed Technical Manager and Chemist of the Physico-Chemical Laboratory.

Sir Aris is an exceptional leader, mentor, a colleague, and a friend whose unwavering commitment to quality, excellence, and public service left a lasting mark on our laboratory and on everyone privileged to work alongside him. His wisdom, humility, and dedication inspired us to pursue the highest standards in our work and to serve with integrity. His lighthearted spirit has a way of brightening even the busiest days.

His legacy will continue to live on through the countless lives he touched, the wisdom he generously shared, and the standards of excellence he helped uphold.

We extend our deepest and most heartfelt condolences to his family, loved ones, friends, and all who mourn his passing. May you find strength and comfort in the cherished memories you shared with him.
