Mind Stretching
About the art: I have always believed in the power of books to transform lives. The inspiration of my art are the rural public school children in our country. Together with my friends, we have been helping these children through our book club by collecting books and providing them rural libraries in the province of Leyte. The boy in my art design represents these rural public school children. I would like to deliver the message that despite the lack of resources and adequate environment for studying, we are able to give them hope to live up their dreams by changing their lives one book at a time.
This art design is my original work and property. I made this design for this contest. This art design is hand-painted using watercolor on watercolor paper. The design is meant to be continuous in such a way that the "boy" is looking at the "book" when the design is covered around the tumbler (like stretching his hand around the tumbler).
