The Local Youth Development Office of Palompon ,Leyte in collaboration with the Philippine Red Cross - Leyte Chapter Isabel Branch and Palompon Emergency Rescue Team invites all participants of the Summer Kids and Youth Camp 2026 to join the FREE Basic First Aid Training on May 23, 2026 , 8:00 AM at Palompon Municipal Hall.
This training includes:

βοΈ Adult & Child CPR
βοΈ How to Respond to Stroke & Cardiac Arrest
This activity aims to equip our young people with essential life-saving knowledge and practical emergency response skills that can help save lives during critical situations.

πSUCCESSFUL VOLLEYBALL CLINIC FOR PALOMPON ASPIRANTS!
Last May 9-10, 2026, young aspirants from the Municipality of Palompon gathered for a meaningful and productive learning activity- the Free Volleyball Clinic, inline with the Summer Kids & Youth Camp 2026 of the Local Youth Development Office- Palompon Leyte.
This activity not only nurtures young talents but also encourages healthy, active, and positive development among Palompon's youth. Huge congratulations to all aspiring athletes for your dedication and enthusiasm!
This Volleyball Clinic was facilitated by Mr. Leo Tugonon and his Volleyball Varsity Players that allows the participants to do the Warm Up Exercises, Drills, and many new learnings about Volleyball.

The Local Youth Development Office, in collaboration with the Palompon Municipal Police Station, invites all young Palomponganons to join the Digital Poster-Slogan Making Contest as part of the Summer Kids and Youth Camp 2026!
With the theme: βBuhay Ingatan, Drogaβy Ayawanβ, this contest aims to empower the youth to raise awareness against illegal drugs through creativity, art, and powerful messages of hope and prevention.
Let your ideas inspire others and be a voice for a drug-free and healthier community!

Contest Mechanics:
1. The contest is open to all youth participants ages 10β24 years old.
Participants must create an original digital poster with slogan based on the theme:
βBuhay Ingatan, Drogaβy Ayawan.β
2. The artwork must promote anti-illegal drugs awareness, healthy lifestyle choices, and youth empowerment.
3. Only digital artworks created using computer software, mobile apps, or digital drawing platforms are allowed.
4. The poster must be in portrait orientation, size A4 (8.27 x 11.69 inches) or equivalent.
5. Participants may use any digital platform such as Canva, Photoshop, Illustrator, IbisPaint, or similar applications.
6. The slogan must be short, catchy, and original. It may be written in English, Filipino, or a combination of both.
7. Entries must be submitted in JPEG or PNGwith high resolution.
Each participant may submit only one (1) entry.
8. Plagiarism is strictly prohibited. Entries must be original and unpublished. Any copied or AI-generated content without proper originality may lead to disqualification.
9. Entires must be submitted on or before May 16, 2026 through LYDO Palompon Gmail Account - [email protected] with the following format (AntiIllegalDrugsDigiPosterSlogan_NameofContestant)
Late submission will not be accepted.
10. Submitted entries become the property of the organizers and may be used for advocacy and promotional purposes.
11. The decision of the Board of Judges shall be final and irrevocable.

The Local Youth Development Office of Palompon proudly opens the Lakbay-Aral: Kasaysayan at Kultura ng Palompon β Summer Edition on May 17 (Batch 1) and May 18 (Batch 2), a meaningful and exciting learning journey for the young people of Palompon!
This FREE activity welcomes children and youth ages 10β19 years old, together with their parents or guardians.
This program is initiated by the Local Youth Development Office in collaboration with the Office of the Municipal Environment and Eco-Tourism, this program aims to deepen the appreciation of Palomponβs rich heritage, history, and cultural identity.
Through immersive and engaging experiences, participants explore:
ποΈ Historical Tour β Visiting significant landmarks that reflect the rich history of Palompon
βͺ Cultural Immersion β Learning local traditions, spiritual devotion, and community customs
π Educational Workshops β Interactive discussions about Palomponβs historical role in Leyte and the Philippines
Learners were introduced to important heritage sites such as the Saint Francis Xavier Parish, World War II bombing sites, ancestral old houses, and the history of the local government and its leaders.

In line with the Summer Kids & Youth Camp 2026 the Local Youth Development Office of Palompon conducted the Batch 4 , of the Nature & Marine Biodiversity Walk today May 3, 2026 , it was participated by Young and Youths in the Municipality together with their parents/guardians.
This one whole day activity starts at Maria Anabe Cave where they are listening on the storytelling about this native folklore, and followed by the Kayak Activity for the kids with their parents/guardians.
The second stop is at Tabuk Marine & Bird Sanctuary where they are introduced and familiarize the different kinds of Mangroves, Fishes, Corals and other Marine Species that are present in the Sanctuary, especially they enjoyed the Bat Watching Activity and Giant Clams Observatory Activity.
The third stop is at the Palompon Terrestrial Eco-Adventure Park where the kids get a chance to see the beauty of nature and the parents experienced the different rides: Sky Bike & Zipline.
And the last and final stop is at Palompon Sanitary Landfill at Barangay Taberna that allows the kids and their parents familiarize the different Solid Waste Management Programs and Machines that are used in the Municipality.
This wholesome, fun and unforgettable experience for the kids and parents was very successful with the help of the partnered departments, the MENRO, ECCD Teachers & Bantay Dagat.
May this program help young minds appreciate and be proactive on nature and marine conservation, that makes our Municipality more progressive and sustainable for the future generations to come.
Everyone had an amazing time during our Nature and Marine Biodiversity Walk! From discovering unique coastal ecosystems to learning about the incredible species that call them home, it was a day filled with learning, appreciation, and connection with the natural world.
