๐ŸŽฅ๐Ÿ† PTVHS STUDENTS CAPTURE TOP SPOT IN โ€œPARACELIS IN MOTIONโ€ VIDEOGRAPHY CONTEST

PARACELIS, MOUNTAIN PROVINCE โ€” Students of Paracelis Technical and Vocational High School (PTVHS) emerged as the Winner in the School-Based โ€œParacelis in Motionโ€ videography contest as part of the celebration of Tourism Month 2026.

The winning PTVHS team is composed of Ij M. Bayangan, Jyancel Oeia C. Lingwa, Janna Kim O. Annaway, Shiegie G. Perez, and Azaleah M. Doot, who showcased through their creative video the beauty, culture, attractions, and tourism potential of Paracelis.

During the awarding ceremony,
Tourism Officer Flora Madanom highlighted that the participants did not merely experience a tourist attractionโ€”they also helped open and promote a tourist destination, allowing others to discover and appreciate the beauty of Paracelis.

Vice Mayor Lister Carlos emphasized that todayโ€™s tourism initiatives can create opportunities for future generations and provide an additional source of livelihood beyond agriculture.

โ€œDakayo ti mangsagrap kadagitoy nga araramiden yo metlaeng.โ€

Meanwhile, Atty. Shasta Ann B. Vargas reminded everyone that tourism is a shared commitment. By promoting local attractions, products, culture, and cuisine, every resident can become an ambassador of Paracelis.
โ€œParacelis is a place and has a community worth remembering.โ€

This victory reflects the studentsโ€™ creativity, teamwork, and passion for their community. Through their lens, they showed that Paracelis has stories worth telling, places worth discovering, and a culture worth celebrating.

Congratulations, Ij, Jyancel, Janna Kim, Shiegie, and Azaleah!

PTVHS is proud of you! ๐Ÿ’™

PARACELIS, Mountain Province โ€“ In a bid to amplify youth voices in addressing child, early, and forced marriage, ten students from Paracelis Technical-Vocational High School (PTVHS) participated in a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) conducted by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Social Technology Bureau, providing valuable insights that will help shape national programs and advocacy efforts for the protection and well-being of Filipino children and adolescents.

The activity was conducted in collaboration with DSWD-Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR), the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO) of Paracelis, and the Youth Development Office (YDO) of Paracelis as part of a national study on Child, Early, and Forced Marriage and Unions (CEFMU).

During the discussion, the students shared their knowledge, attitudes, and perceptions regarding CEFMU, including the views of their families, peers, and communities on early marriage and unions. The participants also discussed decision-making, future aspirations, help-seeking behavior, support systems, and the sources they rely on for information.

The students emphasized the importance of education, parental guidance, community support, and access to accurate information in making informed decisions and preparing for a brighter future.

Insights gathered from the FGD will contribute to the development of interventions, communication strategies, and advocacy initiatives aimed at preventing child, early, and forced marriage and promoting the rights and welfare of children and youth across the country.

September 3, 2026 - Paracelis Technical and Vocational High School joined the National Simultaneous School Safety Drill by conducting an orientation and test drill to strengthen the preparedness of learners and school personnel.

Before the drill, SDRRM Coordinator Joshua Akilith discussed the alarm signals and proper responses to emergencies, including running to safety, hiding in a secure place, and following evacuation procedures. He also reminded learners to avoid approaching danger out of curiosity and to immediately report suspicious objects or threats to their teachers.

PEMS Marjorie Rivera of Paracelis MPS, who joined the activity, reminded everyone not to leave unattended bags on campus and to remain alert during emergencies.

During the test drill, most learners followed the procedures correctly. Observers noted an orderly evacuation, although some learners were advised to move faster and take every alarm seriously.

Through the activity, PTVHS identified areas for improvement and strengthened its commitment to building a safer, more alert, and better-prepared school community.

In his retirement speech, Sir Thomas Abad reminded everyone that teaching comes with challenges, changing curricula, demanding responsibilities, and learners with different needs and experiences. Yet teachers must never forget their mission.

Teachers are not called to be the most powerful people in the classroom. They are called to teach, guide, understand, discipline, inspire, and help shape good people.

According to Sir Thomas, teachers must listen with their hearts, respect school leaders, support worthwhile programs, take initiative, remain patient, and lead by example. Teachers may make mistakes, but every day provides another opportunity to change, grow, and become better.

Above all, Sir Thomas emphasized that true education is not only about what teachers teach, but about the kind of person they help each learner become.

After 38 years of faithful service, Sir Thomas may be leaving the classroom, but the values and wisdom he planted will continue to grow in every learner and colleague whose life he touched.

Happy retirement, Sir Thomas Abad! May this new chapter bring you โ€œrag-o, talna, ken bendisyon ti Apo.โ€
