The Air Force Safety Office successfully conducted the PAF Safety Family Conference on 30 March 2026, bringing together Safety Personnel from across Philippine Air Force units in a unified effort to strengthen safety awareness, accountability, and operational discipline.

The conference served as a vital platform for learning, reflection, and alignment. Featuring timely and relevant lectures on Safety Investigation Reports, Focus and Distraction Management in Vehicle Operations, Firearm Safety Handling, and the presentation of 1st Quarter 2026 Mishap Data. These discussions highlighted critical lessons, emerging trends, and the importance of proactive risk management in safeguarding both personnel and mission success.

More than just a forum, the event reinforced a shared mindset: that safety is not merely a requirement, but a responsibility embedded in every action, decision, and mission.

As he concludes his tenure as Chief, Air Force Safety Office, we honor a leader who reminded us that safety is never about convenience, it is about protecting lives, aircraft, and the mission.
Guided by Mission First, Safety Always, the outgoing Chief led with doctrine, pragmatism, and passion, strengthening policies, systems, and investigations while advancing the belief that Risk Management Increases Combat Power.

More than systems, he championed stewardship of lives, resources, and trust and consistently emphasized that safety is a shared command responsibility.

His leadership reinforced that true success in safety is not the absence of mishaps, but preparation, vigilance, accountability, and the courage to learn and improve. The culture he helped shape will continue to guide the Air Force Safety Office and the Philippine Air Force beyond his tenure.

The Philippine Air Force held a Joint Change of Chief of Office Ceremony for the Air Force Safety Office on 12 January 2025 at Colonel Jesus Villamor Air Base, Pasay City, presided over by the Chief of Air Staff, Major General Ulysses S Marquez PAF.

𝑪𝒐𝒍𝒐𝒏𝒆𝒍 𝑹𝒊𝒄𝒉𝒂𝒓𝒅 𝑩 𝑺𝒐𝒎𝒆𝒓𝒂 𝑷𝑨𝑭 (𝑮𝑺𝑪) formally turned over the position of Chief, AFSO, after strengthening the PAF’s safety culture and operational standards. He is succeeded by 𝑪𝒐𝒍𝒐𝒏𝒆𝒍 𝑱𝒐𝒏𝒂𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒏 𝑷 𝑫𝒆 𝑳𝒆𝒐𝒏 𝑷𝑨𝑭 (𝑮𝑺𝑪), who reaffirmed that safety is non-negotiable and must never be compromised. The outgoing Chief emphasized that "Risk Management Increases Combat Power."

As leadership changes, the commitment to protecting lives, aircraft, and the mission endures.

The Air Force Safety Office and Air Force Weather Center came together for a transformative Spiritual Bootcamp, anchored on the theme, “𝐊𝐮𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐧𝐠 𝐕𝐚𝐥𝐮𝐞𝐬 𝐌𝐨 𝐚𝐲 𝐃𝐈𝐌𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐍𝐀𝐆, 𝐋𝐚𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐧𝐠 𝐁𝐮𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐠𝐚, 𝐆𝐢𝐛𝐚.”

The program opened with the topic “𝐔𝐧𝐬𝐡𝐚𝐤𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐅𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧”, where participants reflected on INSTEP+ values strengthened by faith and meaningful life sharing. It continued with a talk on “𝐔𝐧𝐬𝐡𝐚𝐤𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐅𝐚𝐢𝐭𝐡”, introducing the SQ App, a platform for sharing prayers, documenting reflections, and building fellowship groups. The journey concluded with the topic of “𝐔𝐧𝐬𝐡𝐚𝐤𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐅𝐮𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞”, an obstacle course designed to build teamwork, decision-making, problem solving, communication, and spiritual reflection.

Through this shared experience, the participants deepened integrity, service, teamwork, excellence, and professionalism—anchored in God, strengthened by family, and devoted to country.

With hearts aligned and purpose renewed, we were reminded to stay mission-ready in all circumstances. Through reflection and fellowship, we strengthened our commitment to God, family, and country. This bootcamp became a space to rediscover purpose, deepen resilience, and reaffirm our calling as Air Force professionals.
