Zambales โ€” A routine training flight turned into an emergency after a Cessna 172 aircraft with tail number RP-C2211, operated by a local aviation training school, crashed in an agricultural area of Brgy. Lipay-Dingin-Panibutan, Iba, Zambales on Friday morning, July 11, 2025.

Reports revealed that the aircraft had departed from Iba Airport at approximately 8:57 AM for a local training flight when the incident occurred in Purok 4, Sitio Corocan.

Onboard were one flight instructor and three student-pilots, all Filipino citizens. All individuals were immediately brought to President Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Hospital for medical attention by responding personnel from the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), Iba, Zambales.

Authorities swiftly mobilized following the report, with personnel from the Iba Airport Police Station, Aerodrome Rescue and Firefighters (ARFF-CAAP) and CAAP Security and Intelligence Service (CSIS) proceeded to the crash site to assess the situation and extend emergency assistance.

The aircraft suffered considerable damage, with the full extent and cost still being assessed. An investigation is currently underway by the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) to determine the cause of the crash.

๐‚๐š๐›๐š๐ญ๐ฎ๐š๐ง, ๐ˆ๐ฅ๐จ๐ข๐ฅ๐จ | July 11, 2025, The Philippine National Police Aviation Security Group (PNP AVSEGROUP), in close coordination with the Bureau of Immigration (BI), successfully apprehended a 42-year-old female Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) upon her arrival at Iloilo International Airport, following the identification of an active warrant of arrest for the crime of Estafa.

The individual, a resident of Dumalag, Capiz, arrived from Singapore and was flagged by immigration authorities during standard inspection procedures. Based on existing alert protocols, Bureau of Immigration personnel detected an active warrant of arrest issued by a Regional Trial Court in Capiz. Prompt coordination between immigration officers and the Iloilo Airport Police Station ensured the swift validation of the warrant.

Upon confirmation that the warrant remained active, and no bail had been posted, the subject was placed under arrest. She was escorted for a routine medical examination at Ramon Tabiana Memorial District Hospital and was later turned over to the Cabatuan Municipal Police Station for booking and temporary custody.

A 61-year-old Filipino female passenger from Nueva Ecija, bound for Hong Kong, was flagged during routine baggage screening at NAIA Terminal 3 after X-ray operators detected an image resembling bundles of cash in her trolley bag. The matter was escalated to airport authorities, in coordination with the Bureau of Customs (BOC) and PNP Aviation Security Group (AVSEGROUP), conducted a manual inspection. This led to the discovery of PHP 1,200,000.00 in cash concealed in the luggage.

The cash and the passenger are now in the custody of the Bureau of Customs (BOC) for serial number identification and further investigation.

๐๐š๐ฌ๐š๐ฒ ๐‚๐ข๐ญ๐ฒ - More than 10 years wanted for theft, a male arriving passenger from Istanbul, Turkey was arrested at Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3, during a joint operation by PNP Aviation Security Group and Pasay City Police Station on Sunday midnight, July 13, 2025.

Arrested individual was flagged by immigration personnel after verification of an Alias Warrant of Arrest issued in 2014. Coordination was immediately made with concerned law enforcement units, leading to the arrest of the accused.

Subject is currently under the custody of the Pasay City Police Station for proper documentation and the continuation of legal proceedings tied to the decade-old theft case.
