On 29 May 2026, Friday Flag Retreat was successfully conducted aboard Headquarters Coast Guard Aviation Command. The activity was carried out in an orderly and solemn manner, reflecting the discipline and professionalism of all personnel present.

The Flag Retreat remains an important tradition in the uniformed service. More than just lowering the Philippine flag during the last Friday of the month, it serves as a reminder of every personnel’s duty, loyalty, and commitment to the country. For members of the Command, the ceremony also highlights the importance of unity, respect, and dedication to public service, especially in carrying out the organization’s mandate of ensuring maritime safety and security.

The conduct of the Friday Flag Retreat further highlighted the vital role of CGAvCom in strengthening the Philippine Coast Guard’s operational readiness through its continuous commitment to maritime air operations, public service, and the protection of the nation’s maritime interests.

On 21 May 2026, Coast Guard Aviation Command CGAvCom conducted a Bloodletting Activity aboard Headquarters Coast Guard Aviation Command as part of the post-anniversary celebration of the Command’s 28th Founding Anniversary. The activity served as a meaningful initiative that highlighted the Command’s commitment to humanitarian service and community engagement beyond its mandate of ensuring maritime safety and security.

The activity was organized to help address the continuing need for safe and sufficient blood supply in hospitals and other medical facilities. In partnership with DZRH Operation Tulong, Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Saigon Masonic Lodge, and the 107th, 109th, 111th, 115th, 117th, and 124th PCGA Squadrons, the initiative successfully brought together CGAvCom personnel, volunteers, and stakeholders in support of a life-saving cause. Through the simple act of donating blood, participants were given the opportunity to extend help and potentially save lives.

More than a post-anniversary activity, the bloodletting program reflected the spirit of volunteerism, compassion, and social responsibility among all participants and partner organizations. The Command expressed its gratitude to all partner institutions and Philippine Coast Guard Auxiliary (PCGA) Squadrons whose support and participation contributed to the success of the undertaking.

The activity stands as a reminder that service goes beyond duty, reaching communities through meaningful and life-saving efforts, while strengthening cooperation between the CGAvCom, its partners, and the community.

On 25 May 2026, The Coast Guard Aviation Command (CGAvCom) joined via online platform the Simultaneous Signing of Undertaking for the Non-Use of Dangerous Drugs under the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) Zero Drug Tolerance Policy 2026.

The activity highlighted the commitment of CGAvCom personnel in supporting the PCG’s campaign against illegal drugs and in maintaining a disciplined, professional, and drug-free organization. During the signing, personnel pledged their adherence to the PCG Zero Drug Tolerance Policy and their responsibility in upholding the standards expected of every Coast Guardian.

In his keynote message, the Commandant, Philippine Coast Guard, ADM RONNIE GIL L GAVAN PCG emphasized the importance of discipline, accountability, and integrity in the service. He reminded all personnel that maintaining a drug-free organization is essential in ensuring the readiness and credibility of the Philippine Coast Guard.

The activity also served as a reminder of the shared responsibility of every personnel in protecting the welfare of the organization and preserving the trust and confidence of the public.

Coast Guard Aviation Command (CGAvCom) proudly celebrated its 28th Founding Anniversary aboard Headquarters, Coast Guard Aviation Command, marking nearly three decades of unwavering commitment, operational excellence, and dedicated service to the nation.

The momentous occasion was graced by the presence of 𝐀𝐃𝐌 𝐑𝐎𝐍𝐍𝐈𝐄 𝐆𝐈𝐋 𝐋 𝐆𝐀𝐕𝐀𝐍 𝐏𝐂𝐆, Commandant, Philippine Coast Guard, who served as the Guest of Honor and Speaker. In his keynote address, the Commandant commended CGAvCom for its steadfast dedication to maritime safety, security, environmental protection, and humanitarian operations. He also recognized the vital role of the command in strengthening the operational capability of the Philippine Coast Guard through its air operations and rapid response missions.

The Coast Guard Aviation Command (CGAvCom), through its Office of the Aviation Staff for Operations (AC3) and Aviation Safety Group (AVSG), successfully conducted the Aviation Safety and Air Operations Forum 2026 on 04 May 2026 via online as part of its pre-anniversary activities in celebration of the Command’s 28th Founding Anniversary.

This landmark activity aimed to strengthen aviation safety awareness, enhance operational readiness, and promote the exchange of knowledge and best practices among personnel engaged in air operations. It also served as a vital platform to reinforce interagency coordination and interoperability among government aviation units.

The forum featured Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) from the various units of Philippine Air Force, Naval Air Warfare Force (NAWFOR), Army Aviation “Hiraya” Regiment, and the PNP Air Unit. Invited speakers shared insights on critical aviation and operational topics, including:

On 05-07 May 2026, Coast Guard Aviation Command (CGAvCom) thru Nursing Service conducted a Hepatitis B awareness and vaccination drive as part of its ongoing commitment to preventive and promotive healthcare for its personnel. The initiative aimed to strengthen awareness and preparedness in preventing Hepatitis B, a potentially serious viral infection that affects the liver and can impact overall operational readiness if left unaddressed.

The activity emphasized the importance of vaccination as the most effective means of protection against Hepatitis B, encouraging personnel to begin and complete the full vaccine series for optimal immunity. In addition, participants were educated on the significance of adhering to safe practices, including proper hygiene, safe handling of medical equipment, and avoidance of high-risk behaviors that may lead to transmission.

A key component of the drive was early detection through screening, allowing for timely medical intervention and management of cases. By promoting proactive health measures, CGAVCOM reinforces its dedication to safeguarding the well-being of its personnel while ensuring they remain fit and ready to carry out their critical missions.

This initiative reinforces our commitment to prevention, early detection, and a stigma-free environment—ensuring the health and readiness of both uniformed personnel and civilian human resources.

On 27–30 April 2026, the Coast Guard Aviation Command (CGAvCom), through its Weapons, Communication, Electronics, and Information Technology (WCEIT) Weapons and Training Unit, conducted Fi****ms Familiarization, Marksmanship Training, and a Fun Shoot at Coast Guard K9 Firing Range in Taguig City.

To sustain high levels of tactical readiness, the Command conducts an annual training initiative focused on fi****ms proficiency. This program mandates rigorous safety and precision standards, ensuring personnel are fully prepared for operational requirements.

In addition to cultivating advanced proficiency in the operation of both sidearms and rifles, the exercise served as a vital platform for strengthening unit cohesion. The integration of competitive elements alongside technical drills successfully fostered a spirit of camaraderie and collective teamwork among the participants.

RADM JOHN B ESPLANA PCG, Commander of CGAvCom, expressed his formal appreciation to Coast Guard K9 Force for their cooperation in facilitating the use of their firing range. He underscored the Command’s intent to pursue further collaborative ventures and strategic partnerships to enhance mutual capabilities.
