The newly released Strategic Investment Priorities Plan (SIPP) reflects a deliberate and forward-looking shift in the countryβs investment strategyβone that builds on the strong foundation of previous SIPPs which focuses on inclusive growth and opportunities, while responding decisively to emerging global realities.
The 2026 SIPP is a significant upgrade from the previous plan as it now encourages more Industry 4.0 investments and supports smart and sustainable technologies and activities to enter the Philippines. This trend allows us to also cope with the global industry trends and recalibrate our approach from focusing on the volume of investments to prioritizing the quality, resilience, and long-term value of investments entering the country.
The stronger emphasis on advanced manufacturing, innovation, digital infrastructure, and sustainability-oriented industries directly complements PEZAβs long-standing mandate of promoting export competitiveness and industrial upgrading.
It is important to note that even before the new SIPP, PEZA, from our domain, are aggressive in attracting high-impact, future-ready industries such as advanced electronics and semiconductors, electric vehicle supply chains, pharmaceuticals, logistics, and renewable energy in the ecozones. These sectors are not only aligned with global growth trends but are also critical to strengthening the Philippinesβ role in regional and global value chains. We plot the evolution of industries and align these with the goals of the agency in attracting investments that have long term impact in uplifting the lives of Filipinos!
However, we also place significant importance on improving our infrastructure and in addressing the bottlenecks to support the entry of these investments. Todayβs investors no longer seek standalone locations, but integrated environments where manufacturing, logistics, digital infrastructure, skilled workers and energy systems converge.
That is why we continue to strengthen our eco-zoning initiativesβadvancing the development of new frontier ecozones as βready-made ecosystemsβ that offer operational efficiency, resilience, and long-term competitiveness. At the same time, we are accelerating our digital transformation programs and expanding partnerships with government agencies, local industries, and global players. We firmly believe that a whole-of-government and whole-of-industry approach is essential to ensure that these strategies succeed and create lasting impact that pushes our economy continuously upwards.
The new SIPP signals to the world that the Philippines is ready to embrace the industries of the future, strengthen its role in global value chains, and provide investors with a dynamic, resilient, and sustainable environment for growth. With PEZA at the forefront and being the strongest and premier home for export industries and services, we remain committed to ensuring that every investment contributes not only to economic expansion but also to building a stronger, smarter, and more sustainable Philippines.
