Australia Awards Philippines The Australia Awards are prestigious international scholarships funded by the Australian Government to the next generation of global leaders.

Visit our website to learn more: www.australiaawardsphilippines.org Every year, Australia Awards Scholarships gives current and future Filipino leaders fully-funded postgraduate education at any of Australia's world-class universities to equip them with knowledge and skills to contribute to Philippine development. The Australia Awards and Alumni Engagement Program-Philippines (AAAEP-P) manages Australia Awards in the Philippines. It is a program of the Australian Government designed to provide a suite of learning opportunities to Filipinos, which includes Australia Awards scholarships and short courses, local scholarships, and non-formal learning opportunities. It also engages with the Filipino alumni of Australian institutions and Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) through the Australia Global Alumni community, nurturing the connections and relationships these exceptional Filipinos have with Australia. Through the Australia Alumni Grants Scheme, Michelle Manalo is helping women from Quezon City build new skills and new opportunities through craft.

At The Leather Studio Manila, they create hand-stitched pieces that now bring income, confidence and pride.

alumna Koreen Hidalgo is helping advance inclusive rail transport in the Philippines by embedding accessibility into policy and planning.

A University of Sydney graduate, Koreen studied accessible railways in Australia, with her research receiving recognition from the Planning Institute of Australia and the Norman Townsend Prize.

Now Division Chief of the Rail Transport Planning Division at the Department of Transportation - Philippines, she is applying those insights locally, including through the adoption of Accessible Travel Policy Guidelines for an accessible railway operations nationwide.
