The DTI-Sulu successfully conducted Coconsumer Run 2026, bringing together runners, partners, volunteers, and the community in a fun-filled activity promoting consumer awareness, healthy living, and support for local MSMEs. The event started with an opening prayer and stretching exercises at the Santanina Rasul Sports Complex, which served as the starting point, with the Municipal Tennis Court as the finish line. The program kicked off with an energetic Zumba session, followed by the opening remarks of Provincial Director Nagdar U. Sasapan, setting the tone for a meaningful and exciting day.
The celebration continued with the awarding ceremony, recognizing the winners, finishers, and special awardees, including participants in the recitation of the 8 Consumer Rights and 5 Consumer Responsibilities, as well as the youngest and oldest runners. The excitement also continued through a raffle draw spearheaded by CPD STIDS Zaina J. Muksan and CFIDP Focal TIDS Mojarni Jalali. The event also featured participating MSMEs showcasing their local products, giving runners and guests an opportunity to discover and support homegrown Sulu enterprises. The event formally concluded with the closing remarks of Chief TIDS Timhar B. Tiplahan, who expressed appreciation to everyone who contributed to the success of the activity.
The DTI-Sulu extends its heartfelt gratitude to Mayor Edsir Q. Tan and the Local Government Unit of Jolo, Councilor Alfad, the 11th Infantry Division (11ID), 1103rd Brigade, 35th Infantry Battalion, 41st Infantry Battalion, 15th Civil-Military Operations Battalion, Philippine Army (15th CMO Bn), Jolo Municipal Police Station, Sulu Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO), and the Barangays of San Raymundo, Bus-Bus, Maubuh, and Umangay for their invaluable support and cooperation. We also extend our appreciation to the MTIT staff, participating MSMEs, and dedicated volunteers who generously shared their time and effort.
