WILD AND ALIVE WEDNESDAY ✨
Rhizophora × lamarckii is a hybrid of Rhizophora apiculata or Bakawan Lalaki, and Rhizophora stylosa or Bakawan Bato. This hybrid can reach a height of 25 meters and can be found in the more than 7,000-hectare Masinloc-Oyon Bay Protected Landscape and Seascape (MOBPLS) in Zambales.
Mangroves like Rhizophora × lamarckii, provide homes to a wide variety of marine life. They serve as breeding grounds and protection for young aquatic creatures, making them essential for biodiversity. It serves as natural walls against storm surges and protect our shorelines from strong typhoons, waves and floods.
Help us maintain a healthy marine ecosystems and biodiversity. When we keep our mangroves , we not only protect nature but we also protect ourselves from the devastating effects of global warming and climate change.
