The BJMP Regional Office VI successfully conducted the Distribution of School Supplies under the Paghilom Project para sa Pag-aaral for the children of Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDL), providing essential educational materials to support their learning and inspire them to pursue their studies with determination and hope.

The activity also highlighted the recognition of the talents and achievements of PDL through the awarding of certificates and prizes to deserving participants. A PDL from Iloilo City District Jail – Female Dormitory (ICDJ-FD) was proudly recognized for securing 3rd Place in the National Song Writing Contest, showcasing creativity, resilience, and personal growth despite challenges.

Held at Iloilo District Jail – Male Dormitory (IDJ-MD), the activity was spearheaded by JSSUPT JHON D MONTERO. This meaningful initiative reflects the BJMP unwavering commitment to rehabilitation, education, and family-centered programs, fostering positive transformation and strengthening the bond between PDL and their loved ones through opportunities that promote hope and a brighter future.

"Bayanihan sa Paralan: Nagkakaisa para sa Kaayusan at Kaalaman"

The Iloilo City District Jail – Female Dormitory under the leadership of JINSP MARIA JEMIMA C FAILABAN, actively participated in Brigada Eskwela 2026 held at A. Mabini Elementary School.

Representing ICDJ-FD were JO2 Rodolph Medina, JO1 Precious Mae Malaca, JO1 Gerilyn Gumapas, four (4) JO1 Trainees, and five (5) OJT Interns from Northern Iloilo State University. Through this meaningful activity, ICDJ-FD demonstrated its commitment to community engagement, volunteerism, and support for quality education by contributing to the collective effort of preparing the school for the upcoming academic year.

ICDJ-FD extends its heartfelt gratitude to A. Mabini Elementary School, especially to Maam Ma. Corazon P Acla, School Principal III, Ma’am Ena Chua, as well as to all the teachers and pupils for their warm welcome and hospitality. Your dedication and cooperation truly embody the spirit of bayanihan and shared responsibility in creating a conducive learning environment for every learner.

Meals on Wheels: Sharing Hope Through Service

As part of its continuing commitment to community outreach and social responsibility, the Iloilo City District Jail–Female Dormitory (ICDJ-FD), under the leadership of JINSP MARIA JEMIMA C FAILABAN, successfully conducted a Meals on Wheels (Feeding Program) at the A. Mabini Elementary School Covered Gym.

The activity aimed to provide nutritious meals and bring joy to members of the community, reflecting the organization’s dedication to compassion, service, and community engagement. Through initiatives like this, ICDJ-FD continues to promote the values of care, solidarity, and public service while strengthening its partnership with the community.

Distribution of B.I.D.A. and PCVE Information Materials

As part of the continuing advocacy on public awareness and community education, JO1 Precious Mae Malaca conducted the distribution of B.I.D.A. (Buhay Ingatan, Droga’y Ayawan) leaflets of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) and PCVE (Preventing and Countering Violent Extremism) information materials at the A. Mabini Elementary School Covered Gym.

The activity aimed to strengthen community awareness on the dangers of illegal drugs and violent extremism while promoting responsible citizenship, peace, and public safety. Through the dissemination of these educational materials, participants were encouraged to become active partners in fostering a drug-free, safe, and resilient community.

The Northern Iloilo State University (NISU) Interns paid a courtesy call to JINSP MARIA JEMIMA C FAILABAN as part of their orientation and familiarization with the operations and programs of the facility. STRIDE WITH PURPOSE | RUN FOR A CAUSE 🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️

The Iloilo City District Jail – Female Dormitory proudly participated in the Iloilo Provincial Group for Police Transformation and Development (PAGPTD) Run for a Cause entitled “Stride with Purpose” held at Festive Walk Iloilo, Megaworld, Iloilo City.

Representing ICDJ-FD were JINSP MARIA JEMIMA C FAILABAN , SJO4 Jazmin Demonteverde, and SJO1 Herald Bacolod, who joined fellow participants in promoting health, wellness, unity, and community engagement through this meaningful activity.

This event highlights the importance of collective action and social responsibility, bringing together various sectors in support of a worthy cause while fostering camaraderie, physical fitness, and public service.

This meaningful initiative was produced by the Co-founder of the Super Inday Art Project, Dr. Ma Rosalie Zerrudo, in collaboration with ICDJ-FD, showcasing the transformative power of art as a platform for reflection, healing, empowerment, and social connection.

The collaboration highlights the creativity, resilience, and human dignity of Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDL), providing them an opportunity to express their stories, experiences, and aspirations through artistic engagement beyond the walls of confinement.

Through partnerships that bridge art, culture, and community, ICDJ-FD continues to support programs that promote restorative development, inclusivity, and hope for meaningful transformation.
