Sowing Knowledge, Harvesting Hope at IDJ-MD
On May 28, 2026, The Provincial Agriculture Office successfully conducted a Skills Training on Plant Propagation and Seedling Management for the Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs) of Iloilo District Jail – Male Dormitory (IDJ-MD). The activity aimed to equip the participants with practical agricultural knowledge and skills that can contribute to sustainable livelihood opportunities and environmental stewardship.
Through hands-on demonstrations and informative discussions, the PDLs gained valuable insights into proper plant propagation techniques and effective seedling management practices.
The Iloilo District Jail – Male Dormitory, led by JCINSP (ATTY) MARK P MALHABOUR, Acting Jail Warden, expressed its sincere gratitude to the Provincial Agriculture Office for sharing its expertise and unwavering support in promoting rehabilitation, skills development, and productive engagement among the PDLs.

IDJ-MD Values Restoration Program | Prayerfulness
On May 27, 2026, SJO2 Denia S Armentia, Unit Values Reformation Officer, conducted a Values Program for fifteen (15) IDJ-MD personnel, focusing on the topic “Prayerfulness,” with JO2 Wilnmark Gallego serving as elaborator.
The session highlighted the importance of maintaining a strong connection with God through prayer, reflection, and faith. Participants learned how prayerfulness fosters inner peace, patience, humility, and moral guidance, helping both personnel and Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs) navigate challenges and pursue positive change.
The discussion also emphasized the role of prayerfulness in promoting self-discipline, compassion, and professionalism in jail service. By practicing faith and integrity in their daily duties, personnel contribute to a peaceful, respectful, and humane jail environment that supports rehabilitation and personal growth.

IDJ-MD Values Restoration Program | Political Neutrality
On May 21, 2026, SJO2 Denia S Armentia, Unit Values Reformation Officer, conducted a Values Program for thirteen (13) IDJ-MD personnel, focusing on the topic “Political Neutrality,” with JO3 Gerry Mosquera Jr. serving as elaborator.
The activity emphasized the importance of maintaining impartiality, professionalism, and fairness in the performance of official duties. Discussions highlighted that political neutrality means serving the public without bias, regardless of political beliefs or affiliations, while ensuring that all decisions are guided by laws, institutional policies, and ethical standards.
Participants were reminded to uphold discipline, respect, and accountability by avoiding political involvement while on duty and by treating all Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs), visitors, and community members equally. The program strengthened awareness on the role of neutrality in promoting peace, credibility, and professionalism within jail operations.
