The Sangguniang Bayan convened in a special session today, July 14, to deliberate on the proposed declaration of a State of Calamity in the Municipality of Pototan following the adverse effects of the Southwest Monsoon, enhanced by Typhoon Inday.

After careful deliberation and consideration of the Damage and Needs Assessment report, the body approved the declaration of a State of Calamity. The declaration acknowledges the extent of the damage brought about by widespread flooding and provides the legal basis for the immediate mobilization of resources to support emergency response, relief operations, rehabilitation, and recovery efforts for affected communities.
