𝐏𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐫𝐨 𝐓𝐮 𝐀𝐠𝐒𝐮𝐫 𝐏𝐞𝐫𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐒𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐆𝐮𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞, 𝐇𝐨𝐧𝐨𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 ✨

On April 30, 2026, performers of Palaro Tu AgSur 2026 gathered in the Municipality of Loreto to take part in the Panawagtawag, a sacred ritual of the AgSurnon Indigenous Peoples practiced to seek spiritual permission, guidance, and protection. Through this ritual, all involved honored ancestral spirits, aligned their intentions, and ensured that all preparations and activities moved forward in harmony and safety.

Baylan Peligrito F. Miel led the ceremony, calling for strength, clarity, and collective well-being—reminding everyone that their journey goes beyond performance and remains deeply rooted in cultural reverence. Provincial IPMR Romeo O. Magadan Sr., Municipal Tribal Chieftain Diomedes T. Bebero Sr., and Provincial IPMR Pablo O. Plaza witnessed the ritual, reinforcing the strong cultural foundation and community support behind this tradition.

Following the sacred ceremony, the Agusan del Sur Choreographers Association, Inc. conducted an orientation to prepare the performers for the upcoming celebration. The session provided essential guidance on safety procedures and emergency protocols, ensuring that all performers are well-informed and ready to respond appropriately in any situation. It also emphasized the importance of observing proper code of conduct and etiquette, both on and off stage, as a reflection of professionalism and respect. Discussions further highlighted stage etiquette and time management, underscoring the value of discipline, preparedness, and respect for schedules to ensure the smooth flow of performances. Lastly, the orientation reminded performers of the importance of appropriate interaction with the audience and fellow performers, fostering unity, respect, and a positive atmosphere throughout the event.

We also extend our gratitude to the host municipality of Loreto, under the leadership of Hon. Mayor Alvin A. Otaza, for the warm accommodation, support, and unwavering commitment to ensuring the success and smooth conduct of the activity.

The Provincial Tourism Office conducted a coordination meeting and site inspection at Lipata Port, Surigao City, together with City Tourism Representative Mr. Jayson Como, Mr. Richmond Anthony Riain Alfonso of the Local Youth Development Office, Port Police Officer I Vincelyn Aries R. Eviota of the Philippine Ports Authority – Terminal Management Office Lipata, Mr. Edgardo M. Pael, and Mr. Dinz P. Gipala of the Department of Education Surigao del Norte, aligning plans and ensuring smooth port operations in preparation for the arrival and departure of delegates for Palaro Tu AgSur 2026.

The Provincial Tourism Office of Agusan del Sur conducted the 2nd Quarter Tourism Officers’ Meeting, bringing together Tourism Officers from across the province to share updates and align preparations for the upcoming Palaro Tu AgSur 2026.

The meeting provided an opportunity to discuss key preparations, clarify roles, and strengthen coordination among municipalities, particularly in delivering tourism support services and ensuring a positive visitor experience.

Through continued collaboration, all municipalities are working together toward a well-organized and successful Palaro Tu AgSur 2026.

A meaningful courtesy visit was made by the NCCA GAMABA Secretariat Roche Keanu Severo and Head Documenter Albert Labrador to Governor Santiago B. Cane, Jr on April 20, 2026.

The visit highlighted the upcoming documentation of the Gawad ng Manlilikha ng Bayan (GAMABA) Folio, particularly for Bae Abina Coguit, a Manunuyam from Lapaz, Agusan del Sur. This is also a vital project that captures and preserves the legacy of our National Living Treasures. Further, it opened avenues for stronger collaboration between the national and local government in safeguarding and promoting our cultural heritage for future generations.

As the Province of Agusan del Sur prepares for the highly anticipated Palarong Pambansa 2026 hosting, the Provincial Tourism Office proudly partners with the Agusan del Sur Choreographers Association, Inc. to celebrate the spirit of creativity, culture, and community.

A coordination session was recently held to address challenges encountered during rehearsals and to align plans for a seamless and well-executed performance.

By harnessing the brilliance of local talents, this milestone event becomes more than a stage for athletic excellence—it transforms into a vibrant platform that showcases AgSur’s finest artistry, rich heritage, and enduring pride.
