The Provincial Health Office, in partnership with the Provincial Department of Health Office, successfully concluded the Provincial Validation of the LGU Health Scorecard (LGU-HSC), reaffirming its commitment in strengthening evidence-based health governance and improving the quality of healthcare services across the province.

For the fourth and final day of the validation process, the following Local Government Units, through their respective Municipal Health Offices, underwent assessment:

The LGU Health Scorecard serves as a vital tool in measuring health system performance, validating key health indicators, and ensuring the accuracy and reliability of reported data. As the Palarong Pambansa 2026 successfully concludes, let's take a moment to look back at the efforts carried out behind the scenes during the monitoring visits of billeting quarters for the delegations across the nation located in various localities of Agusan del Sur. These visits have been a joint effort of the Department of Education - National Technical Working Group for Health of the Palarong Pambansa 2026 led by Dr. Miguel Angelo S. Mantaring, Director IV, Bureau of Learners Support Services and Chairman of Safety, Health and Welfare Committee, together with Dr. Lilibeth P. Mirando-Gonzales, Supervising Health Program Officer and Health Team Lead, in partnership with the Provincial Health Office of Agusan del Sur, spearheaded by Dr. Jacqueline Frances F. Momville, Provincial Health Officer II and Chairperson of the Health and Emergency Committee from May 22-30, 2026.

The designated delegation billeting quarters in the province were assessed to ensure that health and sanitation standards are observed and implemented to include clinics, first aid stations, emergency transport vehicles, athletes rooms, wash stations, sanitary kitchen, mess hall, sanitary toilet, and health signages.

This initiative reflects the collective commitment of the local and national partner agencies and stakeholders in providing a healthy and safe billeting environment conducive and supportive in upholding the welfare of all athletes, coaches, and delegates in their "home away from home" in the almost two weeks of Palaro Tu Agsur.

Because in Agusan del Sur, all delegations are family.

Following the successful conclusion of Palarong Pambansa 2026, the Provincial Health Office (PHO) remains committed in promoting the health and well-being of all personnel who contributed to the conduct of this major national event.

As part of its continuing health initiatives, the PHO conducts the Medical and Dental Mission for PGAS employees to assess their health status and provide essential healthcare services after weeks of dedicated service and support during the games.

The PHO also encourages PGAS employees to avail medical consultations and health screening services at the designated Gymnastics Building at the back of Datu Lipus Makapandong Covered Court. These services are available until June 3 - 4, 2026, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

Through this initiative, our health sector reaffirms its commitment to preventive healthcare, early detection of health concerns, and the promotion of a healthier workplace and more productive workforce.

As part of the province’s continuing efforts to strengthen local health systems, the Provincial Health Office, in coordination with the Provincial Department of Health Office, conducted the Provincial Validation of the LGU Health Scorecard (LGU-HSC).

The validation activity covered the following Local Government Units through their respective Municipal/ City Health Offices:

✅ Esperanza
✅ Sibagat

This process serves as an important mechanism in reviewing and validating health performance data, ensuring that reported indicators accurately reflect the status of health services at the local level. The Provincial Health Office, in partnership with the Provincial Department of Health Office, continues the conduct of the LGU Health Scorecard (LGU-HSC) Provincial Validation to ensure the accuracy of reported health indicators and support evidence-based health planning across the province.

For Day 2 of the validation activity, the following LGUs underwent assessment through their respective Municipal Health Offices:

The Provincial Health Office (PHO), in partnership with the Provincial Department of Health Office, successfully conducted the LGU Health Scorecard (LGU-HSC) Provincial Validation (Day 1) on June 1, 2026, at the Provincial Learning Center, GDOP, Patin-ay, Prosperidad, Agusan del Sur.

The LGU Health Scorecard serves as an essential tool in assessing the performance of Local Government Units (LGUs) in delivering quality, accessible, and responsive health services to their communities. Through this activity, the reported health indicators per LGU were reviewed and validated, while best practices and opportunities for further improvement were identified to strengthen local health systems.

The following LGUs, through their Municipal Health Office, underwent validation on the first day of the activity:

✅ San Francisco
✅ Veruela
✅ Trento

This initiative reflects the continuing commitment of the Provincial Health Office and its partners to promote accountability, evidence-based decision-making, and excellence in local health governance, ultimately contributing to better health outcomes for every AgSurnon.

As part of its commitment to public safety and health awareness, the Provincial Health Office provides the Snake Bite Management Algorithm as an informational guide on the proper response and immediate management of snake bite incidents should such situations arise during the games.

By strengthening emergency response readiness and promoting proper health protocols, this initiative supports a more orderly, protected, and well-prepared environment for everyone. Health and safety remain at the heart of every venue, every participant, and every moment of Palarong Pambansa 2026.

This initiative aims to promote timely action, proper medical management, and increased awareness to help prevent complications and ensure the welfare of everyone. Through preparedness, coordination, and shared responsibility, we continue working toward a safer, healthier, and more successful Palarong Pambansa 2026.

To ensure safety and well-being of everyone throughout the duration of the event, designated medical personnel and emergency responders are strategically assigned in every playing venue. These teams are on standby to respond promptly to any medical concerns and emergencies that may arise during the competitions.

Through strong coordination and commitment among the Provincial Health Office and partner agencies, we continue to uphold a safe, secure, and health-ready environment for all participants and visitors of the Palarong Pambansa 2026.

In line with the ongoing Palarong Pambansa 2026, the Provincial Health Office continues to conduct regular inspection and monitoring activities among the different food booths located within the Government Center, Patin-ay, Agusan del Sur. These efforts are being carried out to ensure that proper food sanitation and hygiene standards are consistently observed by all food vendors and booth operators.

The public is also encouraged to remain mindful when purchasing food by checking for proper sanitation practices and ensuring that food handlers possess valid Health Cards as part of responsible and safe food service operations.

Through thorough inspection and close coordination, the Provincial Health Office aims to help provide safe, clean, and healthy food for all visitors, athletes, delegates, and members of the community who are currently in Agusan del Sur for the event. Ensuring food safety is an important part of protecting public health and preventing foodborne illnesses, especially during large gatherings and celebrations.
