As the Palarong Pambansa 2026 successfully concludes, let's take a moment to look back at the efforts carried out behind the scenes during the monitoring visits of billeting quarters for the delegations across the nation located in various localities of Agusan del Sur. These visits have been a joint effort of the Department of Education - National Technical Working Group for Health of the Palarong Pambansa 2026 led by Dr. Miguel Angelo S. Mantaring, Director IV, Bureau of Learners Support Services and Chairman of Safety, Health and Welfare Committee, together with Dr. Lilibeth P. Mirando-Gonzales, Supervising Health Program Officer and Health Team Lead, in partnership with the Provincial Health Office of Agusan del Sur, spearheaded by Dr. Jacqueline Frances F. Momville, Provincial Health Officer II and Chairperson of the Health and Emergency Committee from May 22-30, 2026.
The designated delegation billeting quarters in the province were assessed to ensure that health and sanitation standards are observed and implemented to include clinics, first aid stations, emergency transport vehicles, athletes rooms, wash stations, sanitary kitchen, mess hall, sanitary toilet, and health signages.
This initiative reflects the collective commitment of the local and national partner agencies and stakeholders in providing a healthy and safe billeting environment conducive and supportive in upholding the welfare of all athletes, coaches, and delegates in their "home away from home" in the almost two weeks of Palaro Tu Agsur.
Because in Agusan del Sur, all delegations are family.

Following the successful conclusion of Palarong Pambansa 2026, the Provincial Health Office (PHO) remains committed in promoting the health and well-being of all personnel who contributed to the conduct of this major national event.
As part of its continuing health initiatives, the PHO conducts the Medical and Dental Mission for PGAS employees to assess their health status and provide essential healthcare services after weeks of dedicated service and support during the games.
The PHO also encourages PGAS employees to avail medical consultations and health screening services at the designated Gymnastics Building at the back of Datu Lipus Makapandong Covered Court. These services are available until June 3 - 4, 2026, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
Through this initiative, our health sector reaffirms its commitment to preventive healthcare, early detection of health concerns, and the promotion of a healthier workplace and more productive workforce.

The LGU Health Scorecard serves as an essential tool in assessing the performance of Local Government Units (LGUs) in delivering quality, accessible, and responsive health services to their communities. Through this activity, the reported health indicators per LGU were reviewed and validated, while best practices and opportunities for further improvement were identified to strengthen local health systems.

In line with the ongoing Palarong Pambansa 2026, the Provincial Health Office continues to conduct regular inspection and monitoring activities among the different food booths located within the Government Center, Patin-ay, Agusan del Sur. These efforts are being carried out to ensure that proper food sanitation and hygiene standards are consistently observed by all food vendors and booth operators.
The public is also encouraged to remain mindful when purchasing food by checking for proper sanitation practices and ensuring that food handlers possess valid Health Cards as part of responsible and safe food service operations.
