The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) โ€“Palawan strengthened cybersecurity awareness and data protection efforts through โ€œ๐‚๐ฒ๐›๐ž๐ซ ๐‘๐ž๐ฌ๐ข๐ฅ๐ข๐ž๐ง๐œ๐ž ๐Ÿ๐ŸŽ๐Ÿ: ๐”๐ง๐๐ž๐ซ๐ฌ๐ญ๐š๐ง๐๐ข๐ง๐  ๐š๐ง๐ ๐๐ซ๐ž๐ฏ๐ž๐ง๐ญ๐ข๐ง๐  ๐‚๐ฒ๐›๐ž๐ซ ๐“๐ก๐ซ๐ž๐š๐ญ๐ฌโ€ and a Philippine National Public Key Infrastructure (PNPKI) Orientation, held in observance of National Cybersecurity Awareness Month (NCAM) and in line with National Statistics Month (NSM).

The activity underscored the critical role of cybersecurity in safeguarding data as government agencies increasingly rely on digital systems to collect, process, store, and share information. Protecting the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of data is essential to ensuring reliable information for sound decision-making, effective planning, and quality public service delivery.

The activity further highlighted the close relationship between cybersecurity and data protection, emphasizing that reliable statistics and information depend on secure systems and responsible digital practices.

Through initiatives such as this, DICT Palawan continues to strengthen cybersecurity awareness and promote a culture of digital security toward a more resilient and digitally capable government.

This collaborative initiative aims to enhance the digital literacy and technical productivity of participants, strengthening their capacity to manage, process, and utilize data effectively in service of the community.

As part of ๐๐š๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง๐š๐ฅ ๐‚๐ฒ๐›๐ž๐ซ๐ฌ๐ž๐œ๐ฎ๐ซ๐ข๐ญ๐ฒ ๐€๐ฐ๐š๐ซ๐ž๐ง๐ž๐ฌ๐ฌ ๐Œ๐จ๐ง๐ญ๐ก ๐Ÿ๐ŸŽ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ”, the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) Palawan conducted a hybrid seminar on the eGov PH Super App, Philippine National Public Key Infrastructure (PNPKI) and Cybersecurity 101 on October 5, 2026.

Anchored on this year's Cybersecurity Awareness Month theme, โ€œ๐˜๐˜ˆ๐˜‰๐˜: ๐˜š๐˜ข๐˜ญ๐˜ช๐˜จ ๐˜ด๐˜ข ๐˜Ž๐˜ข๐˜ธ๐˜ข, ๐˜›๐˜ช๐˜ฃ๐˜ข๐˜บ ๐˜ด๐˜ข ๐˜‰๐˜ข๐˜ฏ๐˜ต๐˜ข,โ€ the activity emphasized that a resilient Philippine cyberspace is built through the shared efforts of people, institutions, and communities.

Aligned with ๐–๐ž๐ž๐ค ๐Ÿ: ๐‚๐ฒ๐›๐ž๐ซ ๐“๐š๐ง๐š๐ฐ (๐”๐ง๐๐ž๐ซ๐ฌ๐ญ๐š๐ง๐๐ข๐ง๐  ๐–๐ก๐š๐ญ ๐ˆ๐ฌ ๐‚๐ก๐š๐ง๐ ๐ข๐ง๐ ), the session encouraged participants to stay informed about emerging cyber threats, adapt to the evolving digital landscape, and become more responsible and security-conscious digital users. The Cybersecurity 101 session also covered practical ways to recognize phishing and social engineering attempts, create stronger passwords, and practice safer online habits.

Participants were introduced to PNPKI and its role in securing digital identities, supporting digital signatures, and enabling trusted electronic transactions. The discussion also highlighted eGovernment (eGov) and the importance of using digital technologies to make government services more accessible, efficient, responsive, and secure.
