The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) Area Center IV conducted a Holy Mass on 26 August 2026 at the Conference Room, Engineering Building, Puerto Princesa International Airport (PPIA).

The Mass was offered to seek divine guidance, strength, and protection for the personnel participating in and supporting the conduct of the ICAO Universal Safety Oversight Audit Programme (USOAP) audit.

Following the Mass, the Center conducted the blessing of its newly acquired service vehicles, comprising one (1) Oshkosh Striker 6x6 Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting (ARFF) vehicle, one (1) service van, and two (2) Hilux pickup vehicles.

The Oshkosh Striker, delivered to PPIA on 18 April 2026, is equipped with a 12,500-liter water tank, a 1,750-liter Aqueous Film Forming Foam capacity, and 250 kilograms of Dry Chemical Powder. Its deployment strengthens the airportโ€™s emergency response capability and enhances its operational readiness for aviation-related incidents.

Prayers were offered for the safety and protection of the personnel who will operate and utilize the vehicles, as well as for their continued reliability and serviceability.

The activity reaffirmed Area Center IVโ€™s commitment to safety, preparedness, operational efficiency, and the effective performance of its mandate in support of the ICAO USOAP audit and the continued delivery of safe and reliable airport services.

The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) Area Center IV recognized the Puerto Princesa City Water District (PPCWD) and its General Manager, Walter J. Laurel, for their prompt and valuable assistance in addressing an operational concern at the Puerto Princesa International Airport (PPIA) on 23 August 2026.

CAAP-PPIA sought the assistance of PPCWD to facilitate the necessary works to address the concern and support the restoration of normal water service to the airportโ€™s affected facilities.

In response, PPCWD promptly provided the necessary technical support, equipment, and personnel, enabling the immediate completion of the required works and the restoration of water supply to the airportโ€™s critical facilities.

CAAP Area Center IV, headed by Civil Aviation Area Manager Glenn D. Tripulca, expressed its appreciation to PPCWD and General Manager Walter J. Laurel for their immediate response, cooperation, and invaluable support.

The collaboration highlights the importance of strong coordination and partnership between CAAP and local stakeholders in supporting the continuity of essential airport services and ensuring the safe, secure, and efficient operation of PPIA.

The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) warns the public and all its stakeholders against individuals who are fraudulently using the names of the CAAP Director General and other CAAP officials to solicit money, gifts, favors, sponsorships, or other forms of consideration from private individuals, organizations, or businesses.

These unscrupulous individuals may communicate through phone calls, text messages, emails, social media, or other means while falsely claiming to represent or act on behalf of the Director General, other CAAP officials, or the Authority.

The CAAP categorically states that the Director General, its officials, and personnel have never and will never solicit money, gifts, goods, sponsorships, or any personal benefit from any individual or entity in connection with the performance of their official duties.

The Authority strongly condemns these fraudulent activities and will pursue the appropriate legal action against those responsible.

The public is urged to remain vigilant and to immediately report any suspicious solicitation or communication purportedly coming from the Director General, other CAAP officials, or any CAAP personnel through the Authority's official communication channels.

For everyone's protection, all official transactions and communications with CAAP should only be conducted through the Authority's verified and authorized offices and official platforms.

The CAAP encourages everyone to verify the authenticity of any request before taking action and to report any suspected fraudulent activity immediately to [email protected].

PUERTO PRINCESA CITY, 31 July 2026 โ€“ In support of National Disaster Resilience Month 2026, with the theme "NAGHAHANDA at KUMIKILOS tungo sa PANATAG na BAGONG PILIPINAS," CAAP Area Center IV, headed by Civil Aviation Area Manager Glenn D. Tripulca, participated in the 3rd CDRRMC Color Fun Run today, 31 July 2026, at Balayong People's Park, Barangay Sta. Monica, Puerto Princesa City.

The activity brought together representatives from various government agencies, local government offices, and partner organizations to promote disaster preparedness, resilience, and community engagement as part of the observance of National Disaster Resilience Month (NDRM) 2026.

Through its participation, CAAP Area Center IV and Puerto Princesa International Airport reaffirmed their commitment to supporting initiatives that strengthen disaster resilience and foster a culture of preparedness among government agencies and the communities they serve.

CAAP Area Center IV continues to actively collaborate with local stakeholders in advancing disaster risk reduction and management efforts, recognizing the importance of collective action in ensuring the safety, security, and resilience of the aviation sector and the public.

On 22 June 2026, CAAP personnel from its Central Office and various airports, including Busuanga Airport, Kalibo International Airport, Naga Airport, and San Vicente Airport, donned blue shirts and tops for "Blue Monday" to visually express support and solidarity with forcibly displaced and stateless people, in celebration of National Refugee Day 2026.

The National Refugee Day (NRD), which is officially observed this year on 23 June with the theme โ€œSolutions in Motion: Rebuilding Futures Together," is pursuant to Presidential Proclamation No. 265, series of 2023.
