International AIDS Candlelight Memorial 2026

Today, the International AIDS Candlelight was meaningfully observed during the flag ceremony of the Municipality of Pulilan.

As we light candles in remembrance, we honor the lives lost to HIV/AIDS, stand in solidarity with people living with HIV, and renew our commitment to compassion, awareness, prevention, and ending stigma and discrimination.

May this observance remind us that every life matters, every voice deserves to be heard, and together, we can build a community rooted in understanding, hope, and inclusivity.

​The heat is intensifying. According to the latest data from DOST-PAGASA, several areas are now under "DANGER" category heat indices, with Dumangas, Iloilo expected to reach a scorching 45°C today, April 27.

​When the Heat Index reaches 42°C–51°C, heat cramps and heat exhaustion are likely, and heatstroke is a probable threat with continued exposure.

​TOP FORECAST AREAS (April 27, 2026):

• ​45°C: Dumangas, Iloilo
• ​44°C: Cavite City
• ​43°C: Negros Occidental, Eastern Samar
• ​42°C: Zambales, Bulacan, Palawan, Occidental Mindoro
• ​40°C-41°C: Metro Manila, Pangasinan, Cagayan, and more.

PROTECT YOURSELF & YOUR FAMILY:

• ​DRINK UP: Don't wait until you're thirsty. Drink water constantly. Avoid soda, coffee, or alcohol which can dehydrate you faster.
• ​SEEK SHADE: Stay indoors between 10:00 AM and 4:00 PM when the sun is at its strongest.
• ​COOL DOWN: Wear light-colored, breathable clothing (cotton is best!). Use fans or air conditioning if available.
• ​CHECK IN: Look after children, the elderly, and those with pre-existing conditions. They are at the highest risk.

​EMERGENCY SIGNS:
​If someone experiences dizziness, fainting, rapid pulse, or very high body temperature without sweating, they may be suffering from HEATSTROKE.

• ​Move them to a cool area.
• ​Apply cool water or ice packs to the skin.
• ​Call for medical help immediately.
