UPCHE Pilot Food Plant Official page of the UP Diliman Pilot Food Plant

The Pilot Food Plant (PFP), under the Department of Food Science and Nutrition, College of Home Economics, University of the Philippines Diliman has been a venue for in-college experience of students of Food Science and Nutrition as well as a processing unit for the food industry. It serves some of the laboratory classes of the department and research projects utilizing PFP’s facilities. It also offers packaging services (canning and vacuum packing) for private individuals, and product research and development for the food industry. Vision

In accordance with Memorandum Circular No. 128, issued by the Office of the President and posted on the Presidential Communications Office page, the UP Diliman (UPD) Office of the Chancellor announced that UPD will observe alternative arrangements for classes and work (except for essential offices) tomorrow, 18 August 2026.

Following the announcement of the Quezon City Government, the UP Diliman Office of the Chancellor announced that all face-to-face classes in UP Diliman are suspended tomorrow, 10 August 2026, due to inclement weather. The members of the faculty are enjoined to conduct alternative modes of learning (synchronous/asynchronous).

Work in all UPD units shall remain onsite.

πŸ“’ ADVISORY: Adoption of the 4-day Onsite Work Arrangement

Pursuant to CHE Office of the Dean Memo No. JRB 2026-005, the Pilot Food Plant will adopt a 4-day onsite work arrangement, with Mondays designated as the common Work-From-Home (WFH) day, effective April 6, 2026.

πŸ”Ή On WFH Days (Mondays):
β€’ All client transactions will be conducted remotely.
β€’ For consultations or inquiries, you may reach us at πŸ“§ [email protected]
β€’ For face-to-face transactions, clients are advised to visit the Pilot Food Plant from Tuesday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM.

πŸ”Ή Submission of Laboratory Permits:
β€’ Submission and processing will remain onsite (Tuesday–Friday).
β€’ Consultations will shift to online mode on WFH days. Students may consult with a PFP FT staff through email correspondence.

πŸ”Ή Special Considerations for Onsite Activities on Mondays:
β€’ Laboratory classes (if any) will proceed onsite as scheduled.
β€’ PFP staff will report onsite only for essential facility and equipment maintenance activities.

πŸ”Ή Adjustments on Weeks with a Holiday:
β€’ The holiday becomes the no onsite workday.
β€’ PFP staff will report onsite for the remaining 4 days, following regular 8-hour workdays.
