TROPICAL CYCLONE BULLETIN NR. 6
Severe Tropical Storm DOMENG (JANGMI) Issued at 11:00 AM, 30 May 2026
Valid for broadcast until the next bulletin at 5:00 PM today.

The center of Severe Tropical Storm DOMENG was estimated based on all available data at 875 km East of Northern Luzon. It is moving northwestward at 20 km/h with maximum sustained winds of 100 km/h near the center, gustiness of up to 125 km/h, and central pressure of 985 hPa.

DOMENG MAINTAINS ITS STRENGTH WHILE MOVING WEST NORTHWESTWARD OVER THE PHILIPPINE SEA.

The center of Severe Tropical Storm DOMENG was estimated based on all available data at 970 km East of Northern Luzon. It is moving west northwestward at 15 km/h with maximum sustained winds of 95 km/h near the center, gustiness of up to 115 km/h, and central pressure of 990 hPa.

START OF THE SOUTHWEST MONSOON

Ahead of the possible onset of the rainy season, the DOST-PAGASA officially announces the start of the Southwest Monsoon or Habagat over the Philippines, which is one of the precursors of the onset of the rainy season.
As Habagat becomes the dominant weather system, occasional to frequent rains and thunderstorms are expected, particularly over the western sections of the country. These conditions may signal the possible onset of the rainy season in the coming days.
However, there may be rain breaks that last a few days or weeks, known as monsoon breaks.
