The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) conducted week-long anti-illegal drug operations nationwide from May 7 to May 14, 2026. In coordination with the Philippine National Police (PNP) and other law enforcement units, PDEA carried out 109 anti-illegal drug operations that dismantled drug trafficking networks, eradicated extensive cannabis plantations, and apprehended 101 individuals involved in illegal drug activities.
Authorities seized dangerous drugs with a combined estimated value of PHP 101.13 million. The confiscated items included approximately 12 kilograms of Shabu (crystal m**h), various forms of ma*****na, nearly 73,980 fully grown ma*****na plants, and pharmaceutical-grade narcotics often diverted for illegal use.
The week-long operations spanned from the National Capital Region (NCR) to the far reaches of Mindanao and the Cordilleras, showcasing an aggressive, multi-pronged approach. Among the 88 operations:
β’ 66 Buy-Bust Operations led to the arrest street-level and high-value targets;
β’ 10 Ma*****na Eradication Operations destroyed massive plantations in remote areas.
β’ 5 Search and Seizure Operations, 6 Interdictions, and 1 Search Warrant Ex*****on targeted key elements of drug networks.
PDEA Director General Undersecretary Isagani R. Nerez said, "This was not just a series of arrests; it was a strategic dismantling of the drug apparatus that destroys our communities. We are sending a message to every drug peddler and cultivator: the law will catch up with you. Let this serve as a clear reminder that illegal drugs have no safe haven in our country."
The volume and variety of confiscated items highlight the evolving nature of the drug threat:
β’ CRYSTAL M**H (SHABU): 12,082.47 grams β the largest seizure of the week, removed from the supply chain.
β’ MA*****NA:
o Kush (High-Grade): 3,108.70 grams
o Dried Leaves: 1,501.44 grams
o Ma*****na Plants Eradicated: 73,980 plants (potential future yield valued at tens of millions of pesos, destroyed in the CAR region alone)
o Seedlings: 900 plants
β’ DANGEROUS PHARMACEUTICAL DRUGS: Intercepted prescription and regulated drugs included Va**um (28,454 pieces), other benzodiazepines (10,120 pieces), Alprazolam (9,430 pieces), Nitrazepam (7,530 pieces), and 170 grams of Zolpidem.
Notable Operations:
β’ Pharmaceutical Drugs Intercepted (May 11, 2026(sad) PDEA-NCR and NAIA-IADITG teams intercepted over 50,000 tablets of regulated benzodiazepines, Va**um, and other narcotics at a courier hub in Barangay 197, Pasay City preventing them from reaching the streets.
β’ Cordillera Ma*****na Eradication (May 8β11): Coordinated operations in Benguet and Kalinga eradicated over 73,980 ma*****na plants across multiple sites in Tinglayan, Kalinga, halting one of the largest cultivation hubs in the region.
β’ High-Value Target Arrest (May 13, Cebu City): Operatives from PDEA RO 7 and PNP-DEG arrested a major drug personality in Barangay Duljo, seizing 1.6 kilograms of Shabu valued at nearly β±11 million, dismantling a key distribution hub in Central Visayas.
β’ Southern Mindanao Buy-Busts (May 1 & 8, 2026): Davao Oriental operations seized 570 grams of Shabu, while Zamboanga City operations captured 5 kilograms, marking two of the largest single-day seizures of the week.
Of the 101 arrested individuals, profiles included:
β’ Pushers: 25
β’ Possessors: 39
β’ Couriers: 22
β’ Drug Den Owners/Maintainers: 4
β’ Visitors/Clients: 8
β’ Den Employees: 3
PDEA emphasized that these accomplishments were only possible through the vigilance of citizens and the unwavering support of the PNP, local government units, and the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP).
"We will not rest. We will continue to carry out our sworn duty to God and country, tirelessly hunting down illegal drug syndicates. Our efforts keep millions of pesosβ worth of drugs away from our youth, bring criminals to justice, and create safer communities. The coordinated efforts of PDEA, the PNP, and our partner agencies send a clear message: we are here, and we will not stop. We will continue to pursue drug traffickers, destroy illegal plantations, and protect the future of our country, while upholding the rule of law and acting in a humane manner," DG Nerez added.
PDEA assures the public that all arrested individuals will face the full force of the law under the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 (Republic Act No. 9165). On May 18, 2026, IAV IRVIN JOHN CODERIS, Assistant Regional Director of PDEA RO MIMAROPA, together with IA V NOREEN P. BAUTISTA and personnel from PDEA Palawan Provincial Office, attended the Monday Flag Raising Ceremony held at the Municipal Hall of Taytay, Palawan.
During the ceremony, IAV Coderis formally conferred the Balangay Seal of Excellence to HON. NORBERT LIM, Municipal Mayor of Taytay, Palawan, together with Vice Mayor HON. DELMA P. EDEP and the members of the Sangguniang Bayan, in recognition of the municipalityβs sustained efforts and unwavering commitment in maintaining its drug-cleared status, officially declared on August 16, 2024.
The recognition highlights the strong collaboration among the Local Government Unit, law enforcement agencies, and community stakeholders in promoting a safer, more secure, and drug-free community.

INTERVENTION PROGRAMS UPDATE
As of April 2026, a total of 30,076 barangays nationwide have been declared drug-cleared β a testament to the collective commitment of communities, local governments, and partner agencies in building safer and healthier communities.
Alongside these achievements, thousands of individuals have been reached through intervention and reformation programs aimed at transformation and reintegration:
π Community-Based Drug Rehabilitation Program (CBDRP) β 337,966 completers
π General Intervention (G.I.) β 85,818 completers
π Balay Silangan Reformation Program (BSRP) β 18,776 drug reformists
π Drug Abuse Treatment and Rehabilitation Program (DATRP) β 3,480 completers
These figures reflect that the fight against illegal drugs is not only about enforcement β it is also about recovery, support, and giving individuals a second chance to rebuild their lives.
