Happy Pride Month, Quezon City!

This June, the LGBTQ+ and Development Council of Quezon City stands with every member of the community, whether you're out, on your way, or still finding the words. Pride is not just a celebration; it's a reminder of the fights won, the battles still ahead, and the love that refuses to be silenced.

As a proudly inclusive city, we reaffirm our commitment to:
- Safe and affirming spaces for all genders and orientations
- Equal access to services, employment, and protection under local ordinances
- Year-round advocacy, not just for one month

Kaya mga Besh, mag-ingay, magmahal, at maging proud kahit kailan!

Kayo ba?

Janet Oviedo, head of the Gender and Development Council Office in Quezon City, explained the provisions of the Right to Care Ordinance and emphasized its importance for the LGBTQIA+ community, saying the measure aims to lessen discrimination and show that healthcare proxy rights should not be limited to straight couples.

“This ordinance and this program is very specific for the LGBT community. Initially because gusto namin magkaroon ng spark na hindi lang pang-straight people 'yung healthcare proxy,” Oviedo said in an interview with .

Quezon City made history as the first local government unit in the Philippines to institutionalize a comprehensive Gender-Inclusive Health Ordinance, with more local governments now adopting similar measures across the country.

ANO ANG RIGHT TO CARE ORDINANCE? 🏳️‍🌈🤔
