Idinaos ngayong March 6, 2026 ang Culmination Activity ng Basic Meat Inspection Course (BMIC) Batch 30 sa 4th Floor Training Room 1, Quezon City Health Building, bilang pagtatapos ng 17 trainees na matagumpay na nakumpleto ang training program.
Ang aktibidad ay dinaluhan ni Dr. Esmeralda Encarnado, Assistant City Veterinarian; Dr. Melba Q. Albay, Chief, Food Hygiene and Regulatory Division; at mga kawani ng National Meat Inspection Service sa pangunguna ni Dr. Fernando Lontoc, Regional Technical Director โ€“ National Capital Region.
Bahagi ng programa ang pormal na paggawad ng mga sertipiko at pag-welcome sa mga bagong BMIC-trained personnel, bilang pagkilala sa kanilang matagumpay na pagtatapos ng pagsasanay.
Ang Basic Meat Inspection Course (BMIC) ay isang mahalagang pagsasanay na naglalayong palakasin ang kaalaman at kakayahan ng mga meat inspectors sa tamang meat inspection procedures, food safety standards, at hygienic handling of meat. Sa pamamagitan ng programang ito, higit pang napapalakas ang kakayahan ng mga kawani na tiyakin na ang karne na umaabot sa publiko ay ligtas, malinis, at de-kalidad.
Ang inisyatibong ito ay patunay ng patuloy na pakikipagtulungan ng City Veterinary Department at NMIS sa pagtataguyod ng food safety at proteksyon sa kalusugan ng mamamayan.

PAHAYAG NG LOKAL NA PAMAHALAAN NG LUNGSOD QUEZON

Nagsagawa ng masusing pagsusuri sa mga lechon establishment sa La Loma ang Quezon City Veterinary Department (CVD) sa pakikipagtulungan ng Bureau of Animal Industry (BAI), bilang bahagi ng regular na inspeksyon ng lokal na pamahalaan at pagtataguyod ng kapakanan ng publiko lalo na ngayong Kapaskuhan.

Sa naturang inspeksyon, natuklasan na may mga baboy na nagpositibo sa African Swine Fever (ASF) kayaโ€™t inirekomenda na isailalim sa culling ang mga baboy upang maiwasan ang pagkalat ng sakit.

Bunsod nito, naglabas ng Temporary Closure Order sa labing-apat (14) na lechonan ang Quezon City Business Permits and Licensing Department (BPLD) Miyerkules ng gabi (November 12) alinsunod sa rekomendasyon ng BAI, CVD, at City Health Department (CHD).

Tinitiyak ng pamahalaang lungsod na nananatiling isolated ang ASF sa lugar, at walang banta ng ASF sa iba pang pamilihan sa lungsod. Hindi naipapasa sa tao ang ASF virus.

Nagsimula na ang proseso ng disinfection sa mga apektadong lugar sa La Loma. Nagtalaga din ng checkpoints ang lokal na pamahalaan upang kontrolin ang paggalaw ng mga baboy mula at papasok sa La Loma.

Agad nagsagawa ng dayalogo ang Pamahalaang Lungsod Huwebes ng umaga (November 13) kasama ang mga apektadong negosyante upang talakayin ang mga isyung pangkalusugan, kaligtasan, at operasyon ng lechonan, para mapanatiling ligtas, maunlad, at masaya, ang industriya ng lechon na ipinagmamalaki ng Quezon City at ng buong bansa.

Tinutulungan na ng lokal na pamahalaan ang mga negosyante, para matiyak na susunod sa health and safety protocols ang mga lechonan nang muli silang makapag-alok ng de-kalidad na pagkain sa publiko.

Patuloy na nananawagan ang Pamahalaang Lungsod Quezon sa publiko na makipagtulungan at manatiling mapanuri para sa kaligtasan, kalinisan, at kapakanan ng lahat ng mamimili.
