Buong-pagmamalaking ipinahahayag ng Editorial Board ang paglalabas ng pinakabagong isyu ng BALANGAW, ang Opisyal na Pahayagang Pangkampus ng Paaralang Elementarya ng Bagumbayan, Lungsod Quezon, para sa Taong Panuruan 2026–2027.

Isang karangalan ang makamit ng BALANGAW ang IKAANIM NA PUWESTO BILANG ISA SA PINAKAMAHUSAY NA PAHAYAGANG PANGKAMPUS SA LUNGSOD QUEZON. Ang pagkilalang ito ay patunay ng dedikasyon, talento, at pagsisikap ng bawat batang mamamahayag at kawani ng publikasyon.

Bagumbayan Elementary School successfully conducted its Monthly Faculty Meeting, led by School Principal Sir Randgren I. De La Cruz, together with the dedicated teaching staff. The meeting focused on important school matters, updates, and plans to strengthen teaching and learning.

Through collaboration, open communication, and shared commitment, the BES teaching force continues to work together toward providing quality education and a better learning environment for every learner.

With 10th place finishes in the News, Editorial, Sports, and Science Sections, DAYLIGHT secured 10th Place Overall Best English Publication in Elementary English in Quezon City.

Kudos to the editorial staff, led by Editor-in-Chief Treasure Javillo, and to their adviser, Ma’am Cherrie E. Tan.

BALANGAW: IKAAANIM NA PWESTO BILANG PINAKAMAHUSAY NA PAHAYAGANG PANGKAMPUS SA LUNGSOD QUEZON!

Isang makabuluhang tagumpay ang muling ipinamalas ng Balangaw, ang pahayagang pangkampus ng Bagumbayan Elementary School, sa pagkamit ng ikaanim na puwesto bilang Pinakamahusay na Pahayagang Pangkampus sa Lungsod Quezon. Patunay ito ng dedikasyon, pagkamalikhain, at sama-samang pagsisikap ng mga batang mamamahayag at ng kanilang mga tagapayo sa paghahatid ng makabuluhan, napapanahon, at mapagkakatiwalaang impormasyon sa komunidad ng paaralan.

Bukod sa pangkalahatang pagkilala, nakamit din ng Balangaw ang mga sumusunod na parangal: ikaapat na puwesto sa Pag-aanyo at Paglalapat ng Disenyo at Pahina at Pahinang Isports; ikalimang puwesto sa Pahinang Balita; ikaanim na puwesto sa Pahinang Agham at Teknolohiya at Pahinang Lathalain; at ikawalong puwesto sa Pahinang Editoryal. Ang mga pagkilalang ito ay sumasalamin sa husay ng ating mga mamamahayag sa pagsusulat, pag-uulat, pagdidisenyo, at paglalahad ng mga kuwentong nagbibigay-kaalaman at inspirasyon.

Taos-pusong pagbati kina Audrey Monique G. Cabero, Punong Patnugot; Cherrie Tan, Tagapayo; at Rand Dela Cruz, Punongg**o, gayundin sa lahat ng batang mamamahayag, g**o, magulang, at tagasuportang naging bahagi ng makabuluhang tagumpay na ito. Nawa'y patuloy na magsilbing tinig ng katotohanan, tanglaw ng kaalaman, at inspirasyon ng bawat mag-aaral ang Balangaw.

Patuloy na lilipad nang mataas ang Balangaw, dala ang paninindigan sa katotohanan, husay sa pamamahayag, at pagmamalaki sa paaralang Bagumbayan Elementary School!

BAGUMBAYAN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL CONDUCTS COORDINATION MEETING FOR THE 4TH QUARTER NSED 2026

In preparation for the 4th Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED), Bagumbayan Elementary School conducted a coordination meeting on October 26, 2026, at 10:00 AM in the School-Based Management (SBM) Room. The meeting aimed to strengthen collaboration among school personnel, emergency responders, barangay officials, and parent representatives to ensure the safety and preparedness of learners and the entire school community during earthquake emergencies.

The meeting was attended by Pat Patrick E. N**o, SCADS PNCO; FINSP Mary Grace P. Peralta, Station Commander; FO3 Mark Gacis, Acting Crew Chief; FO1 Mark Anthony Palpallatoc, Crew; Kag. Marcos M. Mejia; Ms. Divine Grace C. Tindoc, President of BES-SPTA; Ms. Delgen N. De Vera, SDRRM Coordinator; and Mr. Randgren I. De La Cruz, School Head.

Through this collaborative initiative, Bagumbayan Elementary School continues to promote disaster preparedness, strengthen partnerships with community stakeholders, and uphold its commitment to creating a safe and resilient learning environment for everyone.

BBMPC, PARTNERS CONDUCT PAREFORM PROGRAM IN COOPERATION WITH COMMUNITY PARTNERS

The BBMPC, in cooperation with BES, SRP, the PAREFORM Ministry of the Diocese of Cubao, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), and the Barangay Bagumbayan Council, conducted the PAREFORM Program to strengthen collaboration and promote community-based initiatives.

Among the speakers were Ruby Panaligan of the PDEA; Marvin Monserrate of the PAREFORM Ministry, Diocese of Cubao; Rev. Fr. Louie Caupayan; Femelyn Lati, General Manager of BBMPC; and Elmer C. Maturan, Board of Directors Vice Chairman and PAREFORM Ministry Coordinator.

The program highlighted the importance of partnership among community organizations, religious institutions, and government agencies in advancing the program’s objectives and encouraging active community participation.

KABATAAN KONTRA DROGA: Empowering Young Minds Through Drug Abuse Prevention

As part of the continuing efforts to promote awareness and protect the youth from the dangers of illegal drugs, the Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) of Barangay Bagumbayan, Quezon City, spearheaded the “Kabataan Kontra Droga: Anti-Illegal Drug Awareness Seminar” for Grade 6 pupils and teachers.

The seminar was hosted by Sangguniang Kabataan of Barangay Bagumbayan, together with the SK Council led by SK Chairperson John Andrei Madera, with Rayben Jieko T. Rusit, Drug Abuse Prevention Educator, serving as the resource speaker. The activity aimed to educate young learners about the harmful effects of illegal drugs, promote informed decision-making, and encourage them to embrace a healthy, responsible, and drug-free lifestyle.

Together, let us empower the youth with knowledge and values to build a safer, healthier, and drug-free Barangay Bagumbayan.

Bagumbayan Elementary School Recognized as One of Khan Academy Philippines’ Top Schools for September 2026

Bagumbayan Elementary School (BES) has been recognized as one of the top-performing schools in the National Capital Region (NCR) under the Khan Academy Philippines Achievers Program for September 1–30, 2026. This recognition highlights the school’s commitment to strengthening learners’ mathematical skills and promoting active, engaging, and technology-supported learning.

The school was also recognized as one of the top-performing schools in NCR by Khan Academy in July 2026.

The achievement reflects the dedication and collaborative efforts of Mathematics Coordinator John P. Cabero, Master Teacher I and Mathematics in-charge Zenevie Grace A. Bagasbas, and School Principal Randgren I. De La Cruz. Through their leadership and support, the school continues to encourage learners to develop their numeracy skills and achieve academic excellence.

The Khan Academy Philippines Achievers Program recognizes schools that meet established benchmarks in learning engagement, participation, and proficiency. Bagumbayan Elementary School’s inclusion in the list demonstrates its continuing efforts to provide meaningful learning opportunities and improve educational outcomes for its pupils.

Bagumbayan ES Joins Global Handwashing Day 2026

Demonstrating its commitment to health, hygiene, and learner well-being, Bagumbayan Elementary School proudly joined the celebration of Global Handwashing Day 2026 with the theme, “Be a Handwashing Hero!” on October 15, 2026.

Through the school's Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene in Schools (WinS) Program, learners and teachers participated in activities that highlighted the importance of proper handwashing in preventing diseases and promoting a safe and healthy learning environment.

The celebration was further strengthened through the support and partnership of the Rotary Club of Quezon City Southeast, which continues to champion initiatives that enhance the health and welfare of learners. The collaborative effort reinforced the significance of hand hygiene as a simple yet powerful practice in safeguarding public health.
