NFHS KICKS OFF NATIONAL SCHOOL SAFETY WEEK 2026
North Fairview High School (NFHS) officially kicked off the observance of National School Safety Week on October 12, 2026, at the NFHS Covered Court. Following the Regional Memorandum issued on October 10, the morning program brought together school administrators, teachers, parents, guardians, and community partners to strengthen their shared commitment to a safer and more inclusive learning environment.
With the theme βLigtas na Mag-aaral, Handa para sa Kinabukasan,β Dr. Rodel A. Frias, School Principal IV, emphasized the importance of making schools safe spaces for every child and encouraged teachers to serve as frontliners in ensuring learners' safety. Mitsi-An S. Luna, HT VI and School Partnership Focal Person, also highlighted the school's commitment to providing a safe, inclusive, and caring environment for all learners.
The program featured messages from Janice T. Baricaua, School-Parent Teachers Association (SPTA) President; Hon. Jayvee French M. Marigondon, Barangay Kagawad; PEMS Mandy Salcedo of Quezon City Police District Station 5 (QCPD 5); Efren Demanarig Jr. of the Barangay North Fairview Health Workers Team; and SFO1 Ruth A. Mindaro of the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP).
Their messages emphasized the importance of mental health awareness, bullying prevention, responsible social media use, physical well-being, and emergency preparedness. The speakers encouraged learners to speak up about their concerns, remain alert and responsible, seek help when needed, and take part in maintaining a safe school environment. Fire safety awareness, school evacuation planning, and health education were also highlighted during the program.
The activity further strengthened the school's commitment to safety through the Panata ng Buong Komunidad para sa Mas Ligtas na Paaralan, the signing of the School Safety Commitment Wall, and a photo opportunity with the participating school and community representatives.
As the observance continues from October 12β16, 2026, let us remember that school safety is a shared responsibility. Through cooperation, awareness, and preparedness, we can help ensure that every learner feels safe, supported, and ready to face the future.
Ligtas na paaralan, inklusibong paaralan, maalagang paaralan, para sa bata. Iyan ang North Fairview High School!
