Ngayong araw na ito, nagtipon-tipon ang ating teaching staff, non-teaching personnel, security guards, at janitorial team sa QCU Gym para sa Gender-Fair Language and Safe Spaces Seminar!

Nagbigay na ng makabuluhang welcome remarks si Dr. Theresita V. Atienza, ating University President. Binigyang-diin niya ang napapanahong kahalagahan ng mga paksang ito, hindi lamang para sa ating mga mag-aaral, kundi lalo na sa ating mga empleyado at kawani na siyang bumubuo sa pundasyon ng pamantasan.

Nagbibigay na ng kanilang talakayan ang ating mga tagapagsalita mula sa Gender and Development (GAD) Council Office:
⁃ Atty. Claire Padilla – nagbibigay-linaw sa Gender-Fair Language
⁃ Mr. Vince Liban, EnP – nagpapalalim ng ating pang-unawa sa Safe Spaces

Sila ang gumagabay sa ating mga g**o, kawani, seguridad, at tagapaglinis upang makabuo ng isang pamayanang mas inklusibo, sensitibo, at ligtas para sa lahat, mula sa opisina, klasrum, hanggang sa mga pasilyo ng QCU.

Nagsimula ang sesyon kaninang 9:00 AM at magpapatuloy hanggang 12:00 NN. At siyempre, hindi lang kaalaman ang pinapakain natin ngayon, handog ang 120 AM snacks at lunch sa lahat ng kalahok!

Sa ating teaching at non-teaching staff, security guards, at janitorial personnelβ€”kayo ang puso ng QCU. Sama-sama nating isabuhay ang adhikaing ito para sa gender equality at ligtas na mga espasyo sa ating unibersidad!

Quezon City University Holds Gender-Fair Language and Safe Spaces Seminar to Promote Inclusivity

Quezon City University (QCU), through its Center for Gender and Development (GAD) under the Office of the President, is currently conducting the Gender-Fair Language and Safe Spaces Seminar today, August 4, 2026, as part of its continuing commitment to fostering an inclusive, respectful, and equitable academic community.

Organized in partnership with the Quezon City Gender and Development Council Office, the seminar features Gender-fair Language Atty. Clara Rita Padilla as Resource Speaker and Safe Spaces Act Advocate Vince Renzo Liban, who are sharing valuable insights on the importance of gender-fair language, gender sensitivity, and the creation of safe, inclusive, and gender-responsive spaces within educational institutions and communities.

In her opening remarks, University President Dr. Theresita V. Atienza highlights the significance of promoting gender sensitivity, inclusive communication, and mutual respect in creating a learning environment where every individual feels valued, respected, and empowered.

Faculty members, staff, and students are actively participating in discussions on the responsible use of gender-fair language, the promotion of equality, and strategies for preventing discrimination and harassment. The seminar underscores the collective responsibility of academic institutions in upholding dignity, respect, and inclusivity for all members of the community.

Through initiatives like this, Quezon City University continues to champion gender-responsive education and strengthen its dedication to building a campus culture where diversity is celebrated, voices are heard, and everyone has the opportunity to thrive.

Ngayong Oktubre ay ating ginugunita ang Breast Cancer Awareness Month!

Ang breast cancer ay hindi lamang usapin ng kalusugan, ito ay usapin ng pagmamahal sa sarili at sa mga taong mahal natin. Kaya ngayong buwan, paalala sa ating lahat:

βœ… Magpa-screening habang maaga
βœ… Magpakonsulta kung may napapansing sintomas o pagbabago
βœ… Suportahan ang mga kababaihan (at kalalakihan) na patuloy na lumalaban
βœ… Iparamdam ang malasakit sa pamamagitan ng pagbabahagi ng impormasyon.

Kasama ninyo ang Quezon City Government sa pagtiyak na may sapat na kaalaman, suporta, at serbisyong pangkalusugan para sa mga lumalaban sa breast cancer.

Special thanks to our Health Department headed by Nurse Rochell Icban Pascual for leading.
