₱𝟏𝐊 𝐒𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐀𝐥𝐥𝐨𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐁𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐧𝐢 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐠. 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐫𝐨, 𝐒𝐮𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐚𝐝𝐨 𝐧𝐠 𝐇𝐨𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐁𝐚𝐬𝐢𝐜 𝐄𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐢𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐞

Sinuportahan ng Committee on Basic Education ngayong araw ang House Bill No. 27 ni Batangas 1st District Rep. Leandro Legarda Leviste na naglalayong magbigay ng 1,000 pesos na allowance sa lahat ng mag-aaral sa Pilipinas mula kindergarten hanggang kolehiyo.

Kinatigan ni Committee Chairman Roman Romulo ang pagbibigay ng student allowance sa lahat ng estudyante: "We will propose that, as an initial bill that we will pass, we will give a one-time ₱1,000 allowance, at the beginning of the school year, to all K-12 students, but the bill itself will create a mechanism wherein the initial ₱1,000 should eventually cover all 9 or 10 months of an academic calendar, but as an initial, the first step is ₱1,000 per year per student given at the beginning of the school year."

"I thank you for creating the program, the amounts of which can be increased over time," sagot ni Cong. Leandro. “Which will be [increased over time], I think that's what you wanted," dagdag ni Chair Roman.

Gumawa na si Cong. Leandro ng paraan na makapagbigay ng ₱1,000 allowance para sa mahigit 150,000 estudyante sa Batangas mula sa kaniyang sariling bulsa. Sa magandang resulta ng mga local educational assistance program kabilang ang personal na inisyatiba ni Cong. Leandro, nararapat lamang na suportahan ng nasyunal na pamahalaan ang National Student Allowance Program bill para hindi lang iilan kundi lahat ng mga estudyante ay mabibigyan ng educational assistance.

Naniniwala si Leandro na sulit kapag nag-invest ang gobyerno sa edukasyon ng lahat ng mag-aaral sa Pilipinas. Mas marami ang makapagtatapos ng pag-aaral, uunlad ang ekonomiya, at magkakaroon ng magandang kinabukasan ang sambayanang Pilipino. Sa patuloy na mga sesyon sa Kongreso, maigting na itinataguyod ni Cong. Leandro ang mas malaking suporta at budget para sa mga programang makatutulong sa mga estudyante at buong sector ng edukasyon sa bansa.
