In 1986, many educators feared calculators would weaken our ability to think. Today, calculators are an indispensable tool and we still teach mathematics.
Now we're having a similar conversation about AI.
The question isn't whether AI will replace human intelligence. The question is whether we'll learn to use it to amplify human potential.
AI won't eliminate the need for creativity, critical thinking, empathy, or judgment. It will simply shift where those skills create the most value.
History shows that every transformative technology is met with skepticism before it becomes ordinary.
Instead of asking, "How do we stop AI?" perhaps we should ask:
"How can we use AI to solve bigger problems, improve lives, and free people to focus on what humans do best?"
The future belongs not to those who resist change, but to those who learn how to use it responsibly.
